Title: Gamo Swarm 10x IGT exploded view
Post by: gibawatts on March 02, 2020, 05:05:10 PM
Hi guys,

I'm really interested in buying this gun. Here in Germany the Swarm has a different name. Gen 1 is called Replay 10x IGT and the Gen 2 is called Roadster IGT 10x. I've been looking for exploded views to confirm if they use the same piston but I just cannot find them. Does any of you guys have this info?

Regards

Status Update:

Just got my Gamo Roadster IGT 10x GEN 2 (Swarm Fusion 10X GEN2 in some markets). I bought it in 4.5mm (.177). I also bought a scope but it was too long so I sent it back to get another shorter model. I shot some magazines already using just the iron sights. Having in mind that this is just the second rifle that I own/shoot, comparing to the Baikal MP-61, it feels like I have been shooting a toy all along. This thing is a beast! Here in Germany, by law, the "free" guns must be limited to 7.5J, if it wasn't by the F engraved on the barrel, I would say that they delivered me the wrong gun :o ! I'm using the H&N Excite Hammer and it's denting my pellet trap. Not just chipping the paint like the Baikal, it's leaving scars and removing the paint on the back side of the trap plate. I have no references of other guns so, please, ignore my excitement!

Now I'm just waiting for the shop to deliver my new scope and my new kit is complete!

Hello Gilberto, maybe you got one of them FAC versions that means full power. If so you got lucky, but don't get caught with it. Do you own a chronograph? That could tell you exactly how fast your Gamo is shooting. If not, there are some really inexpensive ones around 20 to 30$ available on Aliexpress i own one of them, their measurements are in m/s so that would be even good for you because in Europe it goes by that and not fps. There are not feature laden like the expensive commercial products but for occasional use they are doing just fine. Let me see if i can find the link for the one i got form them. I will post it than later.

If you are denting the trap be aware that before to long you will shoot through it. I suggest that you get a trap rated for .22 rimfire that way it will be impervious to the pellets. I suffered the same problem with my Gamo Whisper Fusion. Without a crony there is no way to determine whether you have received a rifle with a FAC piston

Sorry Gilberto, just checked and it says this one is not longer available, but here is another one just like it, and even lower priced.

Hope that helps, you might have to check if they ship to Germany. And there are also other ones available like models you attach to your guns barrel or more advanced ones that are bigger but also a little higher priced, but for what i'm using it it does just fine.

Is it possible? even with the F engraved on the barrel? Unfortunately I don't have a chronograph. As I said I'm still a rookie in the sport.

Does this Chrony really work? it's a fraction of what they sell here!

Hello Gilberto, yes this little Chronys work quite good, like said before they show the results only in m/s and not in fps, so over here is the need for converting it into fps, but there was some good excel spreadsheets from some member here that covers that really good. Yes they don't have any fancy features like the big Chronys. I for myself write them m/s results down, and then after i'm done put it in that excel spreadsheet, and have the correct fps numbers including the fpe numbers. So it is a little more effort involved with it, but not that bad. And so far i have not had a malfunction, i have no direct comparasion to a big $ Chrony, but some members here have compared it directly to them and they came up with only a few fps difference with the cheapo model. Like i said for what i'm using it, it is working just fine. Just checking once in a while if my guns shooting in the right fps range or need some attention if they fall off. I can just say if you don't want to spend a lot of money, this is a good buy for us budget oriented people. Well maybe they have stamped the F sign on it accidently i don't know, to get a real answer to it, you have to chrony it. Maybe you know somebody who owns a Chrony and he can help you out.
Good luck and enjoy your new gun.

Hmm 7.5 jewel + a tad over 5.5 FPE, seems strange that little energy could do such damage to a typical pellet rifle trap or spinner paddle, any signs of the gun dieseling ?

I noticed that it smells a bit like car exhaust after shooting. But it's a brand new gun! I was shooting it out of the box. Maybe it has something to do with the pellets? I mean, if the gun is more powerful than expected and the pellets are too light or if the diameter is a tad smaller, is it a problem?

Are you mounting the budget chrony on your springer barrel or shooting across it?
I'm curious about how it might hold up on the barrel
Thanks
Ed

Well Gilberto, you can get both versions, one that will be mounted on the barrel and one that will be set up on a little tripod, that you hold your gun in front of it, and shoot over it. I have the tripod version and if you make sure to place the barrel in front of it in the same distance there will be repeatable results. The good thing about this device is in both versions that they are not prone to errors due to less light or to much light, because they are infrared sensors on them. The big chronys have to have lighting conditions just perfect or you will get errors or no readings. Another thing, so far what i have heard about the clamp on model has only a 3 digit display and only shows full m/s while the tripod model has 4 digit display and shows for example 999.9 m/s.
That is what i have read in a thread on here a time ago from people that bought the clamp on model. Let me see if i can find that thread for you and post it, might be some interesting reading for you, there is also the links to the said conversions program and an pdf instruction manual and a lot of other info for it in there. I will try to locate it and post it some later.

It is a long thread and was started last year, but there is for sure a lot of good info regarding this low budget model chrony in it.
Have fun reading it.

You can try the chronograph app on your phone too, it works off of the report from the muzzle and the sound of the impact, requires some precise measurements...
