Title: Two Yong Heng and a BIG thanks!
Post by: WildCJ5 on February 29, 2020, 04:24:33 PM
I want to start by giving a HUGE thanks to ranchibi. He posted up two compressors on here for free. One is a Yong Heng and the other is a clone. Said his friend gave them to him as non working.

I picked them up this morning and we talked airguns for a little while. Super nice guy.

I have not touched the clone yet but the Yong Heng looks to be fine. It was way overfilled with oil and I think it was hydro locking itself. I drained the oil to the correct level and spun the fan by hand until it felt like it freed up.

When I tried to turn it on it ran for about five seconds and stopped. Popped the surge protector on my power strip. So I just turned it by hand for another five minutes or so with all the ports open. Turned it back on and it runs!

I don’t really have a way to see if it’s making pressure. I don’t have any filters and my tanks and guns have only seen scuba air.

Now to check the clone.

I have given away scopes, grips, stocks etc on the PIF gate and did so before it was even an official deal. But I must say, I am blown away with the generosity of this group.

Clone seems to be up and running. I was told this one had been dropped and the proof was under the cover.

Same deal, it was FULL of oil and locking itself up.

Not sure why all the pictures went sideways. Haha

Your lucky day!  Some people just don't read directions.  Honestly can't say I always do...  But still impressive.

Spoke too soon on the clone. When I closed the ports the gauge shot to 3k and stoped running.

Time to take it apart and look for chunks.

Yikes!

At the start of lockdown I had three scuba tanks and a carbon tank full. Not planned just the way it worked out. My tanks are running low getting close to 2k. A few of my guns are 2,000 psi fill and most others are 2,800 psi so have still been able to shoot.

Because of this I figured I might as well get the YH going. I ordered a gold filter, filter material, 400gph water pump, water separator tower and a male to male foster. Almost all showed up today. Just waiting on the foster.

I am planning on using it to fill just one of the scuba tanks and then dedicate that tank to the Chinese and Turkish guns. At least until I am 100% confident I’m not getting any contamination in the tank.
