Title: Trail Elite NP new or old style ?
Post by: Mike71 on February 25, 2020, 11:30:13 AM
I thought the new Trail Elite NP had a polymer cushion on the piston body ?
And the ram is dated 2017 ! I just got this thing..
Solid steel piston body with no polymer cushion..

Anyways I've tore it down for cleaning and Ceracote.. adding new seals as well.

I'm not sure where you expected said polymer cushion to be.  As far as I know the only cushion at the end of piston travel is the seal itself when the end of the compression tube arrests its forward travel.

It's apparent I don't have the newest one.
I'll try and locate one to buy if I can.

That is an NP2 piston, the Elite does NOT have the red cushion.

Looks like I can order the piston body with the buffer from crosman, gonna get a few extra breach seals while I'm at it.
Getting a piston seal from ARH.. 1.141"
Now to find washers to replace the plastic pivot washers.

Cerakoting it now, new Bushnell AR Optics 3-12x40.. I'll start a new thread with pics later.

You won't find the right size washers to replace the plastic washers short of buying new plastic washers from Crosman.  The normal solution is to make your own - instructions attached.

Welp got the new piston body with the poly cushion buffer and new seal from ARH installed, wouldn't let the trigger set when trying to cock it, the gas ram body was bottoming out.
Well &^^&, guess they even used a different ram..
Now I got to wait till the first of next month to try and order one, that is IF I can, many stores and companies are closes shop. : (

Why do you want to do this? It's not necessary.

The main reason to buy This rifle was the suppressor and buffer setup..
Found out it didn't have the NP2 setup, so instead of buying a New gun I'd just get the parts.

I put the stuff back in and will keep shooting it.

And man is Moly powder slick !!!

Can't seem to find good piston seals for the NP..
Stuck with factory Crosman it seems.
Where the heck is the part number for them ? The I.D. is smaller than the NP2.
I've chipped mine taking it in and out.

Anyone need a NP2 piston body with ARH seal on it ?
