Title: Beeman Kodiak .25
Post by: Idalogger52 on February 07, 2020, 04:44:18 PM
Hello all
I am helping a friend who’s husband passed recently sell his guns, as she could use the funds. He had a Mint Beeman Kodiak .25 Air Rifle, I would say this gun would grade at 98% both stock and finish. Looks new to me.
Any ideas as to its approximate value?
If interested I can send photos.
Thank you !!!

Welcome here to the forum!

Well, that springer's from around 1999 or so, a a good one.  I think it's similar to the R1 .25 that had been out in 1994 and earlier.

You should show photos! :D

Welcome to GTA, Ron. Posting photos takes at least 20 posts but guessing you know that and John should ;) If you'd like, I can PM you my email address, send the pics and I'll happily post them for you.

That said, the UK built versions I've seen for sale, the owners are asking anywhere from $450 and up. What they're actually selling for I can't honestly say. Someplace like GunBroker may have a way to check past selling history to give you an idea of what they've sold for in the past and The Blue Book of Air Gun Values is also a handy tool for giving you an idea of a rifle's possible worth.

I've given up on posting photos.
Then maybe you should take your fingers off your keyboard and not ask others to do something you've given up on...lol

Ron sent me the pics he has of the rifle, did what I could to make them smaller to fit and give people a decent view. Looks to be a very nice condition rifle.

In hindsight, I should have asked if he could get some close up pics of the info on the receiver and barrel block (yeah i know, not an easy trick) to better help date the rifle.

I couldn't see close enough to recognize it--I'm sure once I see the joints and rear better I'd remember!

If memory serves, they were made for Beeman by Webley and are pretty much just Webley Patriots with maybe a few minor cosmetic differences. The  few I've seen for sale (and the Beeman versions don't show up often) tend to sell for a little more just for the fact of the Beeman name.

I can say built before 2006 because that's when the rights to Webley were bought out and taken over by Highland Outdoors group, but the usual Beeman info on the receiver and the serial number would go a long ways to dating it and coming up with a better value of what it might be worth.

Ever since Webley went Turkey I avoided the brand.  Anytime an original maker of a rifle sells rights to a cheaper production area that rifle is no longer worth what was the original.

It looks exactly like the English made Beeman Kodiak I have. I paid $450 for mine and mine was professionally tuned by the previous owner.

Agreed for a change...lol. Although I will say every Hatsan I've owned and the 7 Webley branded rifles I still do are all accurate, well built rifles. Webley & Scott, since Highland Outdoors took over the name and all rights to it in 2006, is a name only and very likely one they banked on to sell guns. Just a guess on my part but it would appear they banked more on the powder burning end of things than they did air rifles as since then.
Not a clue if their powder burns are still built in the old Webley plant, but I'm guessing they contracted Hatsan and a few others to build their air rifles as cost cutting move. Hatsan likely builds them for less expense than it was taking to have them built in their English plant and why the older UK built rifles are worth more today if you can find one.

Ron sent me a couple better pics of the Kodiak if anyone is interested. Beautiful rifle and looks very well taken care of. If I had the spare cash, he wouldn't need to look any farther for a buyer...lol
