Title: .177 Predator Polymags devastating.
Post by: Danny on January 29, 2020, 05:43:47 AM
They expand like no other pellet.  This is a passthrough taking lung out the exit side...and one recovered that went from neck through to hip.

Hi Dan.

Your right !

The Predator Pollymags are famous for their expansion on live game.

Gamo Redfire  pellets have been almost as devastating.... in my rifles.

Best Wishes - Tom

I had bad performance from my single trial with a Redfire.  Might have just been bad luck but the pellet tumbled over, the tip stayed on and there was no expansion to speak of.  Accuracy and power, out of my guns was also worse than the Polymags.

What velocity/power level did you hit him with?

i have .177 Polymag shorts on order.  the .177 Gamo Redfires work well out of my 2400KT & HW30.

i've also found the Crosman Destroyers .177 & .22 to be devastating on small game, and water filled soda cans.

Left the barrel at 915 fps.  Probably connected at over 850 fps.

Actually it was a black variety of Fox squirrel.

That is pretty amazing results, that much expansion and penetration at that velocity and power level.  A black fox squirrel, man that isn't too far off from a possum, lol.  That is about as good as it gets.

You should send this in to predator, or jsb or whoever,  it might end up in an add!
