I just picked up a Sheridan Blue Streak that I believe to be a 1973 based on serial number 53403.
My question is with the stocks unusual hand grip. I’ve done some research but have had no luck with reviewing other 1973’s.
The stock has a grooved hand grip for fingers.
Was this a standard build, limited production, a special order (Rare), or done as a custom after market build? Any information would be appreciated.
Thanks

Here is a photo of the stock handle.

I’ve added the pump handle photo.

Forgot the photo of pump handle.

Looks custom carved into original stock IMO...

Yes, customized stock.
53403 is Racine, Wi. zip code. Look for tint numbers on the left side of the loading port.

Thanks, it makes the most sense. The rifle is actually from 1979 and not 1973.
Left side of bolt:
5mm (.20cal) pellets only
-C series - made in u.s.a-
Right side of bolt:
Sheridan Products INC.
Racine WIS 53403

Still a very fine rifle, even though it is newer. If it has not been oiled recently. I suggest doing so, now. Regular non-detergent 30wt will do just fine. Keep stored with 1-2 pumps in it & unloaded.

Cool, thanks
I have two other streaks (1966 Silver & 1972 Blue w/box) that could use your suggestions.

Looks like whoever did that did a good job.
Certainly better than the refinish job I gave my '79 as a teenager, too bad they messed up and mistakenly made it right handed ;)
