Title: Filling PCP rifles with tank.
Post by: DeutschKSK on August 22, 2010, 05:51:37 PM
Been looking into getting one of these tanks here - http://cgi.ebay.com/PURE-ENERGY-88ci-4500psi-COMPRESSED-AIR-PAINTBALL-TANK-/150395375467?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0 (http://cgi.ebay.com/PURE-ENERGY-88ci-4500psi-COMPRESSED-AIR-PAINTBALL-TANK-/150395375467?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0)

What other parts do I need to get in order to fill a Marauder?

&

What type of stores would fill these tanks up?

Getting tired of that old hand pump. Have not dealt with these before so I don't really know what to get, any help would be appreciated!

Thanks,
-Matt

You will probaly have to get a new reg. for the out put psi that you require, say 2000psi or 2500,etc and fill hose, and when you find one it must be rated for 4500 tank psi. so by time you add that cost to the above tank, you may as well buy a Pigmy tank already set up with regulator from AIRHOG.

As far as filling alot of scuba shops won,t fill tanks from paintball setups, some will, but most won,t. and paintball shops will fill ,but when they check out the new reg. output ,they may not touch it.

Paul is right and for that price you might be better off getting one of these and paying for a new hydro.

You would still have the cost of connecting it from the tank to the gun. That could cost another $100-$150.

I went with a paintball tank and I wish I had found this deal.

I was looking at that.. It would be good for the Disco and Katana, I have both of them. But it wont do me any good with my Marauder. Only 2000 psi output but a 3000 psi fill up :x.

I might just get the shoe box compressor and a small shop compressor to use instead of getting tanks.

Brown santa has came and went. I recieved a shoebox compressor friday. Now I am waiting on the hose and fittings to pump direct to the gun. so this post is the kind of info I can put to good use and p.o. the boss. Guess you might say I am in the market for a tank.

Have not run the compressor, maybe tomorrow.

What do you need to use the shoebox compressor? I was very interested in getting one but don't know what I need or where to even get one.

For what it's worth, the Marauder can be adjusted to operated at 2,000PSI quite easily.
I would prefer to operate at the full 3,000 if I had one, but I'm just saying it can be done.

About the shoebox compressor,Automags.org  is the forum web site.Go to the bottom of the page right side is a menu ,open and go to shoebox tech.It will give you all sorts of reading about this little compressor. To post you need to sign up  and that may take a few days to be oked..

As for what is needed to make this work, well I'm just learning but a short list an oiless compressor, you want to feed 85 psi. to the shoebox (think first pump stage) then the shoebox, then a hose and adapter to fit what you are going to fill.
I put a filter with a regulator between two compressors,to catch most of the &^^& that is floating around us all the time. Still waiting on my fill hose but I do know the shoebox will build pressure, using the the Benji pump I hookedit to the compressor and turned it loose. About 2 minutes later it had built up more than 2500 psi.

I have a bad case of wanting a tank now.

He says that you don't really need a 85psi shop compressor it only speeds things up a bit... I don't have any large tanks to fill up at the moment so this won't bother me.

I just need the correct hose to fill up the Marauder.

In the begining they said no extra compressor was needed, but now are saying it will not shut down at the preset pressure and something will blow. As long as you are standing by and watching the fill pressure I don't think it would hurt any thing.

It does take a while to get cleared by the administrator. Seems to me I waited about a week.
