Hi, gents.
I was wondering if you can install a 22xx barrel into a 1720T/1701P breech.
The diameter is the same but there are flat sections (not a problem, IMHO) for the breech set screws on the 17xx barrels as far as I have seen on videos.
I am not sure if the transfer port would line up though---or is there a difference in the "leade" portion of both barrels?
The reason I am asking is because I have a spare 22xx Lothar barrel which I may be able to use if there is no machining involved.
Thank you!

I know a mrod barrel will line up and work in a prod. You don’t have a breech oring to worry about with what your talking about though.

Thanks, Mr. Jeremy!
I am about to ring Crosman and order a 17xx breech pending the result of this thread.
If it fits, the 22xx Lothar, then I do not have to buy a 177xx Lothar barrel anymore.
Might save $50+ or more ;D..
My spare is a 14" 22xx Lothar, btw.

I talked to them last week and tried to get a fortitude barrel from them. No dice. Marauder barrel was 30something with 20$ shipping! If you have a drill press it’s not hard at all to move a transfer port.
Im a little confused on what your trying to do though? Are you taking a 1701 and making it a 22 single shot pistol? You could get the prod breech and bolt and have a repeater. Or are you going with long slugs or something?

A 1720T breech is what I intend to get.
My barrel is a14" 22xx LW .177, hence the inquiry ;D..
Thanks!

The 1720T uses a breech o-ring same as a Mrod. The LW 22XX barrel will need to be machined for the o-ring and this will probably also change the location of the transfer port. You will lose about 3/4" to the machining and need a new chamber and leade cut.

Thanks, Mr. Ken!
I need to buy a 17xx barrel then, lol!
