Title: My 1322 steel and wood rifle build
Post by: melvin on January 01, 2020, 09:53:25 PM
Started this project today. I’ve done another one a few years ago and enjoyed it but no longer have it so I figured I would build another.

This was an idea that I got from airgunsnirvana on YouTube.

This takes one 1322, one 2260 stock, steel breech, disco/2260/fortitude trigger group, 18 inch Crosman barrel, and amateur woodworking skills.

In a normal build all you have to do is fit the 1322 action to the stock. The stock I used for this build was already chopped for a previous tanker build from another GTA member. I had to ad some length to this stock to get it to fit correctly which I’ve shown in the pictures below.

This is it laid out with the barrel.

This is all I have for now. I will add more as I get time. :)

Sweet little build! I'd take that over a stock 1322 any day

Looks like a cool build.  Are you filling in the stock to compensate for difference in tube diameters?

Thank you both.

No the tube actually fits the stock very well. I did ad another mounting point for the stock however. At the back of the trigger guard. You can see it in one of the pics below.

Here is an update pic with the rifle loosely together. I need to do a little finish work to the fore grip, build an lcd, scope, chrony, ect......

I have a flat top valve and piston I may install. Haven’t made up my mind yet.

Very Cool!!  I've been wanting to do my own version of this for a while now- using a 2100 pump lever.  I would need to make a new tube though.

Love the setup, interested to see what power level it's at! Would like to do one myself eventually!

That's pretty cool!  I just happened to watch the airgunsnirvana video last night.

I have been looking at doing this for quite a while. I saw another similar build a while back. I think they used to sell a version like this in Canada . I am thinking about a 14" LW barrel and Mrod shroud cut down on the end.

Random. Haha. I love that guy. He did a very cool 2260 too.

Yes from the what I heard was the Canadian one is what later became the 760 pumper.

I hope you do one. :). Make a thread. I wish this style of build was more popular.

This is too cool!  I really love steel and wood, way better than my new custom 1300kt in 22.

I have everything but a stock. All the 2260 stocks I have seen are stupid priced. The last build I saw the guy found a Maple uninlet rimfire stock blank and it was a work of art when he was done.

if you bump into his build you should link it to me. :)

I think a qb 78 stock would be close. Haven’t tried to fit one however.

Borrowed a scope and tko from another rifle and played with the 1322 a bit.

Shooting 14.3 grain cph at 503 FPS with 10 pumps. That is 8.04 ft lbs of energy.

Is that enough? Depends on what you use your rifle for. I look at all my builds as hunting rifles. What I like to shoot the most is cottontails. That is what this build is for.

The research I did says you can humanly dispatch cottontails with a headshot at 4fpe. I’m double that. I have never shot a rabbit with this low of power.  Only one way to find out.

If I have an issue dispatching rabbits with it I will immediately start working on more power as I hate seeing animals suffer.

This rifle groups ok at 10 yrds. I had a flier but that was my fault. It has good potential for those clean headshots. I need to shim the rear of the scope but that’s for another day.   Below are pics from today’s tinkering. :)

Very nice.  That is a great idea as it looks better than the Crosman skeleton stock.
