Mike! Oh YEAH! Those are great groups with slugs sir! You are certainly dialing her in and with your weak hand at that! 🤓👍 Keep up the excellent slug work! Lots of bench time...😉

Mike,
I think Al would love to see these results. Have you by chance posted on the NOE forum? Great groups. And Merry Christmas .

Good stuff !! .... wait till you address choking the transfer size so the valve gets closed more consistently. Your ES values and subsequent vertical stringing getting reduced your average POI size may shrink even more.
So much potential yet to be realized.

Very impressive Mike! 60 shots, wow.

I read something somewhere that got me thinking about the Raptor transfer port. Could rotating the barrel in the breech(or in my case the thimble) slightly, kinda strangle the tp and achieve the same effect of an increase in the ES and efficiency, assuming optimal hammer tension and striker length?

Well, it might! Scott?

Denis, I hadn't thought of that. Will do! ;)

Thanks Randall. It's coming along fine.

Knife,

Your 80 yard, 67fpe, #60 shot group is sure making me rethink my .20 cal choice. Starting to wonder if I need to find somebody to machine my spare .22 LW barrel to fit so that I can turn this Raptor loose and take advantage of it's intended use, serious POWER.

I do have a .25 L/W barrel with the choke removed and it shoots .251 slugs very well. I wonder if the twist of the L/W will work with .22 slugs. ;)

The pellet barrel sent with the Raptor did not do wellith my slugs. However, it did do well with some of the NSA's as shown on one of Travis's vid. It wis this ame gun and original bbl.  8)

But Man, it was unreal how accurate is was with pellets. Even the lowly HP Crosmans were pinpoint accurate. Now what is the chances of that? 8) +1

It has a twist very similar to the L/W.

Apparently, that gun is junk.  You should get rid of it.  I will happily "dispose" of it for you  :)

J/K, Knife- holy smokes, 60 shots using your weak hand?  And a laser even with Crosmans?   Who DOESN'T love accurate with budget pellets!!!!!!

Hey Mike that looks pretty good. Which barrel do you have installed. Those slugs look like rebated boat tail. Is that correct? I ordered the RBT for the .223 die as well.

Stephen,
Here’s the mold those bullets came from .http://noebulletmolds.com/NV/product_info.php?cPath=24_572&products_id=5417 (http://noebulletmolds.com/NV/product_info.php?cPath=24_572&products_id=5417)

It’s not a boattail but rather a long gas check like base . It’s made to fit into a 22LR case.

Thanks Augie. I really enjoy it. ;D

Stephen, yep, what Hobby said. It really ends up being somewhat like a rebated BT. But no taper.

The barrel is the CF wrapped .22 short 1 in 20 twist offered by Brownells.

Thank you! Now it all makes sense from what you explained to me last time. I will order a liner and CF tube to go with the .223 die. The OD of the 22 short liner spec says 5/16 or 7.9mm should the ID of the CF tube be exactly the same as the OD for a tight fit? Or shouldn't be just a hair larger? Thank you

Stephen, I ordered 1 mm over which give only 1/2 mm in dia around the line. Hold one while I check what I ordered.

Mike

Stephen. I ordered 8 x 12 mm. id x od. Here is the link.

Very nice gun Mike.. and great numbers. That lw barrel should shoot slugs fine my jkhan came with one and shoots a lot of slugs and pellets well.

Hi ya Daniel!  Long time Buddy!

I do have a .25 l/w that is cf wrapped, but I would need to get some of the cf length off the breech end. the Raptor breech is much longer than the Rainstorm.  The barre I am using now is the Brownells Liner. Travis is setting up some barrels for slugs for it now.

You can thank Hobby for the test with the NOE mold. It didn't do well in his bbl. and he gifted it to me for further testing.  8)

Good shooting Mike! Have you tried any other bullets from that barrel?

Ric, only the  29 gr noe's from a decked mold. Not quite as accurate. 100 fps faster. Still with in 1 inch at 50 yards. Just not pin point like the 39 gr's.

Stephen is gearing up to swage some test bullets for it, and as he stated, ordering a liner for is own use.

Michael, what Epoxy did you use to bond the CF tubing to the Brownells barrel?

Sadly, I used JB weld. It started hardening 3/8" shy of being fully seated. GRRRR!!! ;D

For the next project, I picked up some Loctite that takes 30 minutes of working time.

Man, after the fact! LOL  You know what they say about hindsight being 20-20.  ::)
