Title: Moving Up?
Post by: Blue on December 17, 2019, 11:14:28 PM
I think I finally did it!  I joined an indoor range for the winter because they have 100 yard lanes and I HATE trucking everything up to the outdoor range and being miserable in the cold.

Just got back tonight with this submission.  I think this moves me up to Master but I’m not going to do another happy dance (I did a small one already after measuring the group) until after Marty ordains me.

Blue
Gen 2 Marauder .22
JSB Exact Jumbo Heavy 18.13 gr
Centerpoint 4-16x44
100 yard measured lane
Group = 0.75” CTC
Seated, front and rear bags
Calm, ventilation draft from 6 o’clock

Congrats Blue!

BTW, how much does it cost to have access to a 100 yard indoor range like that?   Just curious because there are none that I know of in my area.   At least none I know of close enough for me to use.

Thanks!   And again, CONGRATULATIONS!  ;D

Im jealous.

Thanks guys!!!

100 yards, indoors in the winter, no wind.  I can’t tell if it feels like heaven or cheating!

Kerry... I lucked out.  I think this is the only range in the area that has 100 yard lanes indoors.  They have been having a deal where they’ll waive the initiation fee if you sign up for a membership (month to month, no need to pony up for a full year all at once).  Range time costs around $35 an hour for the general public but is free for “members”, a membership costs around $35 a month and allows you to make reservations.  I’m usually there for a couple hours at a time so it usually more than pays for itself each month.

Thanks Blue for the reply!   I don't think there is anything within  2 or 3 hundred miles (actually I don't know of ANY) of me that has 100 yards indoor lanes, so I consider you lucky!

The price is right if you use it enough.  (grin)

Thanks again for the reply!  ;) ;D

You nailed it Blue. I moved you up to Master on the list. Congrats Master Blue.

Nice range you have there, I'm jealous. What town is it located in? I'll be in the Edwards area a couple of times next year, might need to check it out if it's close.

That range is in Lakewood so it's the West side of the Denver metro area.

Pretty interesting, they built their range under their parking lot to get long lanes in the city.

Thanks Dillon!

Even with 16x magnification it was hard to tell exactly what the group was before I brought the target in.

I was trying so hard to not get excited, to forget previous shots, and to concentrate on just finishing the group without screwing it up!
