I just received a Weihrauch HW50S today. My first "Adult" air gun. I really wanted one with the truglo fiber optics and lucked in to one vs. waiting 5-6 weeks for a custom order. I have to admit the cocking effort was more than I expected! Had a blast testing it out today though. I am still considering getting a Cometa 220 Compact from Airscopes.com though. That way I can have a "father ~ son" competition.
Thank you for the forum and posts! Was a HUGE help for a newby like me. I finally got tired of range fees and thought I would look into an airgun for backyard fun!

very nice I like the 50! :P

Very nice looking gun. The HW50 is one I definitely want to try out some day...in both the .177 and .22 calibers. It seems like a nice combination of weight/power. I hope to hear more about how you like it in the future. Enjoy! ;D

Very nice! Congrats! ;D Dustin

Thats a nice shooter you got there. Like those sights also.

Congrats... and tighten down that front globe sight. I was shooting mine the other day, went to cock it and the whole darn sight went flying across the yard!

I have tried a lot of springer's over the years (20+) and have settled on one and that is a HW50S. I had Rob Hawkins do an advanced tune on mine and it is a keeper. It has the best balance of power, weight, accuracy and recoil of any springer I have had bar none.
I must admit that I find myself shooting a Discovery more often now. It is amazing for the price.

Discovery PCP does look nice!

The 50S is one of my favorite air guns. On mine, I removed the front and rear sights which I think looks better with a scope mounted. I bought the 50S new, gave it a lube tune and fitted a Maccari tune kit. It shoots sweetly with a quiet firing cycle and very little recoil. I chrono'd it at 10.5fpe using RWS Superdomes (8.3 grns). I use it mainly for back yard pest control out to 35 yards. On paper targets it has proved to be accurate giving 10 shot groups inside 1 inch at 35 yards. One last thing - an 'oldie', I kept forgetting to push in the auto safety before firing. I fixed this by removing the safety button altogether and the gun operates fine without it. If you follow normal safe shooting practices anyway, I think removing the safety button is OK to do. Just my opinion 8)

Thanks!
I am loving the Truglo sights. These are so nice in all light levels.
