Title: Benjamin 392/397PA sear hardening question
Post by: Hack21 on December 11, 2019, 08:13:46 PM
Does anyone know the hardening requirements for a Benjamin 392 or 397PA sear if it is ground or annealed? Is case hardening required or is there sufficient carbon in the material for a simple torch quench and then oven tempering to draw it back down?

Thanks.

I have seen this same question get asked on here before without a response.  I will make an attempt at hardening this part without the use of Cherry Red or similar and I will report back with results.
