-
Jeff aka privateer get my nod.
-
Scott Scheinder (Motorhead) Got my vote
-
One for FuzzyGrub
-
Hector Medina. Hector goes above and beyond with the time and effort he puts into his posts. Hector is a Real Professional and deserves to be in the Hall of Fame.
-
Jeff aka Privateer get's my vote.
-
Hajimoto taught me so much over the phone and on videos
Haj is a true asset and without his guidance I would not be a JSAR junkie
My votes goes to Haj!
-
Hard to choose ,so many great guys here, but my vote goes to shakysarge who is always willing to help out !
-
Motorhead!
-
I would like to nominate Lloyd Sikes for this honour….
Bob
-
I would like to nominate Lloyd Sikes for this honour….
Bob
First name that popped into my head also, another vote for Lloyd Sikes!
-
Jason (nervoustrigger) gets my vote. He's been active for years and has made so many helpful guides for newcomers.
-
Hector Medina - always there with a suggestion or two.
-
The 2018 picture is broken on the homepage. Who was the man of the year last year?
-
The 2018 picture is broken on the homepage. Who was the man of the year last year?
I believe that was the man himself, Rocker1. Well deserved!

Awesome, thanks!
-
You mean I can't vote for Rocker1 again. GRRRR!!!
LOL ;D
Knife
-
Jeff aka privateer get my nod.
I vote for Jeff too. I've met him in person and know what a great guy he is, plus I think it's really cool that he make the time to meet up with other airgunners around the country as he travels.
Edit: Jason is a great choice as well.
-
I would vote for Motorhead
-
I'd like to nominate Avator (Bill).
Like the other nominee's, He's a great guy. Contributes often and He is always there to share his wisdom for us.
-
Motorhead
-
We need like three "Men of the Year" as one is just too hard to narrow it down to.
-
I'd like to nominate Avator (Bill).
Like the other nominee's, He's a great guy. Contributes often and He is always there to share his wisdom for us.
Avator! has my vote!
-
Motorhead gets my vote.
-
Jeff aka privateer...jeff is a straight up person that goes above and beyond what most air gunners would do...he can shoot pretty good also.
-
I appreciate all our members, but I'd like to nominate Tack Driver 10 and his pet bass, Billy, for their well documented and well illustrated posts about American pumper mods.
-
Second the nomination for Jeff aka privateer
-
I'm sure my perception is clouded by following only the Darkside, but still a tough call. There are probably many an excellent GTA member that live outside this world, that I'm completely not aware of. :-[
Scott (Motorhead) has had my deepest respect for many years, and his early Mrod regulation info, I found invaluable. His testing and evaluation of different valves has also been very insightful. My vote.
Jason (nervoustrigger) has also been invaluable with allot of DIY info, in current and prior year threads. I have been more focused on that type of info in the last year or so. First runner up.
-
I'll toss my hat to Jeff, too. You all have no idea how many times he's come to my rescue, both airgun related and not.
-
So many gents deserving praise ;D..
Mr Neil Clague is my darkhorse contender.
May not post much and not too overly friendly but I admire him for sharing his merchandise every how and then.
-
NC Ed sure helps out the springer members , never crossed my mind . We take the easy way out and tell the new to springer guy to get a PCP. :o
-
I'd like to nominate Avator (Bill).
Like the other nominee's, He's a great guy. Contributes often and He is always there to share his wisdom for us.
Count me... in.... on that vote for Aviator... Scott.
Either Aviator.... or SteveP-52.... both of those guys.....go WAY out of their way....to help !
Actually..... there are Many folks.... that deserve this honor !
Best Wishes - Tom
-
Hector Medina ;D

This thread has been read 385 times and we have 32 replys come on guys. David

When I think about what makes this forum great several names come to mind. To narrow the list down I have to ad in the 'years in service' factor. I still consider myself more of a newcomer. I've only been around these gates for 6 or 7 years so I feel I pale compared to others. I completely appreciate the nods but I'm very much compelled to decline. That said, here is my short list....
Richard
Only one Harry
Vigilandy
Lizzie
-
Off the top of my head:
Motorhead
Hector Medina
Hajimoto
Ribbonstone
Darkcharisma
Travis
Nervoustrigger
I've only been around a few years, so still a newcomer. But, I'm really surprised that Scott had yet been inducted into the GTA Hall of Fame.
So, for this year, l will vote for Mr. Motorhead
There are many deserving contributing members here, and these individuals will eventually get their accolades.
-
Keep in mind....
This is "The Hall of Fame" not "Man of the Year".
-
Jeff aka privateer is my choice.
-
There are several regular contributors, with various areas of knowledge, expertise, and experience.
This makes it impossible for me to nail it down to just one "Man of the Year".
Id certainly like to see it separated into a few categories to recognize those folks within their strongest areas
So with that said, and on no particular order,
I think those worthy of a special recognition would be :
Scott - motorhead
Jason - nervoustrigger
Lloyd Sikes
Bill - avator
I have conferred with the Thor-man in the past, and he pretty much told me to just shoot Jeff - Privateer, at the first opportunity, so he may just have to wait for a post-mortum recognition. :o
Matter of fact, I'm pretty sure Thor mentioned something about shooting, reloading, and emptying several magazines,
just to make sure
;) ;D 8)
-
Thank you Bill for the nomination but like you I will have to decline. Yes, I may be entering my 14th year with the GTA, 10 of which I spent as a Mod and 2 as an Admin, but I am of the opinion that Admins and Mods should be excluded from the list, only because I believe that the GTA membership already recognizes the contributions and sacrifices of its administrative staff. We are expected to go above and beyond, and I personally consider it the duty of anyone accepting a staff position. If we had an additional list of top 10 "contributors of the year" I might have accepted.
Having said that and as others have already pointed out it is extremely difficult to pick just 1 person for recognition of their contributions to the airgun community, so I too will make 5 nominations.
Lloyd Sikes
Scott (motorhead)
Jason (nervoustrigger)
Hector Medina
Hajimoto
Harry
-
Lloyd Sikes gets my vote for 2019. He sure has done a lot for this sport. Thanks Lloyd!
-
My friends.
I will admit it is a great Honor to be nominated. Something I will never forget and will be proud to hold dear.
I do not feel I am in any way in the Class that deserves the Hall Of Fame.
Several persons have brought up maybe doing some different Awards system in the future.
I agree with that and had planned to bring it up after this years round is over.
I did not expect as many of you to keep me in the running and I do thank you for the votes.
I'm touched very deeply but I am not one that deserves to stay in the running.
I withdraw and hope you all understand why.
With that said?
I vote for Lloyd-ss
He's a great Guy that has done a lot for our beloved sport.
-
Jeff aka privateer still has my vote.him bowing out to give another a chance for votes shows his true character and further more proves him to be worthy of such a honor to be in the hall of fame.
-

All staff positions are voluntary. And for that reason alone I feel all staff should be eligible for this prestigious award. It should be based on the amount and quality of contributions a member makes to this community throughout the entire year. To me, it's an honor just to be mentioned.
:)

I agree 100%
-
OK, maybe I'm the one confused here....
Is Hall of Fame and Man of the Year the same thing?
The way I see it..
Hall of famers are old timers who have near hero status.
Folks who consistently contribute day after day and ask nothing in return over the past year are Men/Women of the year. Isn't that a different award than the one this thread is addressing? I'm asking because the title clearly states "Hall of Fame" and I know we had a "Man/Woman of the Year" last year.
... and BTW.... I agree... mods and admins should be included.
-
All the picture on GTA's front page are labeled Man of The Year.
Rocker1's is labeled Person of the year.
:o
What's up with that?
(Totally expect to be shot for pointing this out!)
I do agree We may need to come to a different awards system.
Something that should be discussed in a different thread.
-

It's a stretch even at that.... (running and ducking)
-
If it is, in fact Man of the Year... my vote goes to Neil Clague.

You don't even have to run! He'll shoot me first no matter what!
-
Wow...
First off, it is the GTA Hall of Fame. Where our contributing folks are recognized. Each person voted in should be the same title and be considered to have earned the same honors as the other voted in recipients. With the exception of our founding fathers of course. I will say I feel a little odd making this post since I'm on that page but as the one that gets the blame for any forum issues, I thought I'd toss this out there. We can all decide exactly WHAT title should be bestowed on those we choose to honor but we are not just men, we are women also. Not sure Man of The Year is an appropriate title but.....
We can adjust as needed. This is still a relatively new thing for our forum.
-
If it is, in fact Man of the Year... my vote goes to Neil Clague.
If it is IN FACT Man of the Year? And NOT Hall of Fame?
I with draw my with draw.
Hall of Fame awards should be awarded to people like Scott and Lloyd as a matter of course.
I will go so far as to say both of them should be inducted with no further voting on them needed!
And I fully expect Rocker1 to empty several magazines into me at his next opportunity.
-
Seems pretty simple to me...
Person of the year for what they do in that year.
Hall of Fame for the actions taken to further our sport in the eyes of the public or unselfish service to the forum and society in general over time.
-
Best PC correct title I can come up with.
Biological Entity of the Year.
Until someone nominates a DayState or something.
-
Thebanker4
Hajimoto
Motorhead
HectorMedina
Lloydss
-
I agree Lloyd and Scott should both be put in to The HOF my reason for Lloyd is how much he’s done in the past and now he’s retired and is busy with Grand kids so he’s not active as much as before. Scott is and has been active and plain deserves to be put in way way or another. But like any HOF not everyone deserving gets in. I hope some day in the future to be part of the HOF but there are many more deserving than me so I will continue on and vote for those like Scott and Lloyd with my ballet
-
Keep in mind....
This is "The Hall of Fame" not "Man of the Year".
Oh.. SNAP!
well then that cuts it down.
I vote call Motorhead, Dez, and Lizzy
-
Haj not that old yet lol
Motorhead
-
my vote goes for lloyd!!!! a great guy, he has been a much needed asset for the airgunning community!!!!!
-
HOF vote: Motorhead
MOY vote: Nervoustrigger
-
Hajimoto has my vote if he makes it on the ballet !!! There's so many that have contributed so much to the forum it's unreal since I've been on here.
-
Against my better judgement I'd like to nominate Jeff/ AKA Privateer. I just hope his head doesn't explode! :o :o :o
pv
-
Hall of Fame Knife maker and Motorhead
Man of the year Haj
-
Just to make it clear, we only have one award. And the title, as of now, is GTA Person of the Year.
-
Best understanding videos I have ever seen was made by Hajimoto and Thebanker4 my vote for year 2019 is Hajimoto.
-
Knife...
-
Ronald Rousseau
-
Knife...
Knife is an excellent nominee. One who offers a lot of valuable gun info most days throughout the year. I have already placed my vote for Lloyd-ss, but wanted to highlight Knife and his contributions to the GTA.
Thanks Knife! I have gained much knowledge from you over the years.
Keith
-
If we only get one vote for GTA Person of the Year, mine is Nervoustrigger.
-
Jason (nervoustrigger) gets my vote. He's been active for years and has made so many helpful guides for newcomers.
I'll second that vote. Always articulate with his responses and willing to help out.
-
Neil Clague as he constantly is donating time, effort, and money to this forum
-
Hector Medina.
Hands down the most helpful person to me and from what I've read, to many others as well. :D
-
Scott Scheinder (Motorhead) Got my vote
Yes, mine too ;)
-
I love it! :)
So many deserving people. What a great problem to have.
Also I want to say thank you for including my name in such fine company.
-
Well deserved Jason!
-
To Dez and all the nominations.... thank you so much for your efforts in keeping the flock in our place!

Yes, I've been thinking about the Hall of Fame person of the year, it's difficult to pick just one.
Hajimoto, Knifemaker, Motorhead, Hector Medina, Jeff aka Privateer, Lizzie, EZman604, Oldpro, Rocker1, Triggertreat, Ribbonstone, Lloyd Sikes are just a subset of all the names that brighten my day when I read their posts.
What a great problem to have.

At this point, you're actually more like +20 ;)
-
Oh why Vote, the major corporations like Crosman and PA control everything anyway... ;D ;D ;D
J/K... my vote is for Jason(nervoustrigger)
-
Whoever wins deserves it!
-
Too many deserving folks here for me to even be able to choose having only been a member since May of this year.
Besides... pretty much anyone I would nominate has already been nominated. ;D
Great group of people here at GTA! I am proud and thankful to be a member!
-

Even if I did order more than anyone else! Muhuhahaha...
Sorry...
I am still listed as a "GTA Senior Contributor" based only on my post count. ;) :D ;D :o ::) 8)

Running tally of the 5 most mentioned names in no particular order:
Motorhead
Jeff aka Privateer
Hector Medina
Lloyd
Nervous Trigger
While I appreciate Tommy's mention and he's already been thanked, he also got told my name has no business being here. While I may have managed to help a couple members, I'm a nobody on GTA and generally get ignored so I rarely log in let alone post anymore although I still wander by to read.
-
Mr Steve I read all your posts I assure you that you arent ignored, I may not post but surely learn something. David
-

+1. Steve, I also read your post. I don't reply to most post I read.
-
AGREED!
-
Same here Steve! I may not reply but I do read your posts.
I think I actually miss you slamming me in Chat the most!
;D
-
Motorhead
-
There are so many helpful and incredibly knowledgeable people here on this forum. Scott would be at the top of the heap for me though.
-
I say Jaycee is the most deserving person of the title this year. Neil, without a doubt, is the most openly generous vendor/member we have on here and it is strange to see that so many either disregard, or don't understand what he does contribute, not only as some of the highest quality products out there, but as someone who without fail has generously offered his products for free several times a year through his giveaways to other members on this forum.

I agree Matt and hes been in the business for a long time and thats no easy feat in itself. He deserves a nod at least.

Absolutely. With his upcoming possible retirement from the industry, it seems only right to acknowledge his contributions. If nothing more than a mention, it needed to be said.

He and Lloyd-SS need to be put in just on their merit alone. Both are retired now and will likely not get votes enough to get in.

Agreed
-
I said it in a past post and I will say it again.
There are people that should be inducted to Hall of Fame right off the bat!
Then a separate 'Biological Entity' of the year thing.
Or at the very lest? 2 separate things.
Hall of Fame and Person of the year.
-
