Title: Benjamin Fortitude DIY surprise
Post by: gopherbgone on December 04, 2019, 10:54:19 PM
Before I got the Benjamin Fortitude D2, all the reviews mention the cheap plastic comb/butt plate instead of a nicer rubber material but the DIY mind in me pictured it as a potential good thing. When I got the rifle my suspicions were actually spot on and my plan actually works. Now this thing just got even better and as close to the perfect reasonably lightweight, compact and portable regulated PCP for hiking you can get for the price. This DIY to me is the easiest and arguably most useful and worthwhile thing you can do to the Fortitude.

Anyway, I can't post external video links yet because my account is still too new so just copy and paste the link below in your browser and the video should show you what I mean. Enjoy! ;)

Nice work Joey, I've thought about seeing if I could 3d print a replacement buttpad insert that would hold a magazine or two
that would click in and still be accessible without removing it but haven't gotten the time to try and play with it.

Here is the link for anyone that wants to take a look:

Thanks guys!

To open it for the first time, you'll have to remove the shoulder sling stud and carefully pry with a spoon or a butter knife but just be extra careful not to slip and watch not to dent/scratch the plastic. After it has been opened, sand the 2" long ridges on each side of the cover just enough to be able to open it next time with just fingernails. I cut 1/2" off the protrusion on the cover that gets screwed together with the sling stud.  ;)
