Title: SWFA had scope screw up
Post by: ssbn617 on December 02, 2019, 08:52:13 PM
Hey,
Don’t know what I was thinking , but I bought a fixed 10x SWFA HD from the company and started to install it. That is when the light went off. Dang! This is a 50 yard minimum scope.
Since I started to install it voids the return policy if I read the fine print correctly.
So what do I do? Try to send it to them to resell at a huge loss? Or perhaps sell by myself?
Open to all help.
Mitch

IIRC, the SWFA scopes go down to 10 yards?

Not the HD😩

Call them.   They might let you exchange it for another scope.

I believe you're right. I think it's 50m - infinity rear focus on the SWFA HD 10x42,
my SWFA SS 12x42 is 10m - infinity.

That's a bummer! The HD series of scopes are 50m-infinity but the normal scopes are all 10m-infinity

If there are no ring marks then how will they know it was mounted? If you take a loss in returning it, try selling on snipershide. Those are popular scopes and move well enough. May take some time as it is the holiday season and people's money is tied up right now. I was looking at their 6x for my new fortitude as I have the 12x, 2 1-4 classics, and a 3-9 hd. Love the scopes for the price.

Try to call the vendor to see if you can return or exchange. Sine you did not install it yet there is really no loss here for anyone.

I just bought the 10x42 regular and have not received it yet.

How did this end up?  Did SWFA help you out on this?  FWIW, I picked up a 16x SS model a few weeks ago.  The weather has been miserable so I have not shot with it too much, but so far I'm impressed...  :-)

I called them and told the truth that I had mounted the scope. The reply was if it is in the same shape as before ,they will will refund it fully. Indeed they did.
Follow up was a letter to them thanking them for superior custom service and their support to the air gun community.
I will certainly buy from them again!
