Title: Nikon EFR Scope discounted
Post by: Yogi on November 23, 2019, 06:28:40 PM
Seems Nikon is getting out of the scope business.
Anyway, great scope at a great price!

Amazon still has them just a little bit cheaper.

Walmart is $189 right now.

That Amazon link goes straight to a $149.40 price. Click on this for the best price - https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B07FLZJZYQ/ref=dp_olp_new_mbc?ie=UTF8&condition=new (https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B07FLZJZYQ/ref=dp_olp_new_mbc?ie=UTF8&condition=new)

You can get it for $127 from them through Webyshops, which is where I got mine yesterday.

Not sure why you are seeing the $149 price.

Here is what I see:

Me neither, but this is what comes up for me.

If I go to my previous orders and choose buy it again, the lower price comes up.

Yep. Just like airfare shopping and going back to the first travel site.

I was mainly wanting to let people know there is a "best" price, just in case they got that same page as I did.

I also use camelcamelcamel.com to track prices on Amazon.   It is not perfect, but you can see a price history for most items so you know how *good* of a price you are actually getting.

I've been using camelcamel, but it totally missed that Nikon price reduction. I'm beginning to lose faith in the camel.

I do also like the price trend thing though.

Yep, I have noticed camel has missed several price points recently.   Not sure what is going on.   Although they did go through some problems relatively recently and the site was down for quite a while.   So, who knows?

It may already be posted here on the forum somewhere but they are exiting the scope business all together.

That’s a great price on a great scope- too bad they don’t list a 4-16 model or I’d buy one.

IMO, Too many high end scope manufacturers don’t make scopes with parallax adjustments that go down to the 10-25 yard range, which is unfortunate.

If they can't focus down to 10 yards/meters, I don't bother with them for AGs.

The Athlon Argos BTR taught me that.   It only goes down to ~15 yards and my indoor range is only 10 meters.

I use the indoor range as my FIRST zero/sighting in on scopes.   Not to mention those few times when I just want to shoot or re-check zero.  (with hold over at 10 meters for 25 yard zero)

The Nikon EFR 3-9x40 AO will dial down to ten yards as marked on the objective. It will actually turn down further than that, so I don't know for sure, (more likely can't remember, LOL) but I think it may go down as close as 5M.

At the time I was posting the Amazon links above (last November/2019) the EFR 3-9x40AO was hitting low prices of around $127 or so. I bought about four of them at that time.

Since then they have been back to their previous price of around $186 and change.

I don't remember if the 4-16 models came down in price at the same time. Even IF Nikon has stopped making them, perhaps there will still be some available NEXT November, at which time we can make another run at them.
