I haven't seen a rat in well over a week! I can't believe I've cleaned out all the rats in the woods behind my house. Do Florida rats hibernate in the winter? :o

Gee Whiz Paul....your guess is as good as mine ! :-\
I don't know anything about if Rats hibernate in Florida or not. ???
What I Do Know is .....that they will be back...sooner or later. ;)
Best Wishes - Tom

Paul, they’ve seen your PCP line up and they stay FAR AWAY from your fence!

Paul
I keep telling you guys,
that you are shooting off you decoy's, Rats/Mice and other rodents leave a scent trail,
(Dribble urine along the trail), when they start searching out new areas,
the original trail blazer will follow it's trail back to home base.
If the trail blazing rat finds a good Din Din spot, he fills up and tells his buddies,
Hey there some good chow over here, follows the trail to Paul's Din Din house,
a couple of them will follow the trail and like what they find and head back to pass the word around etc.
Once you have at least a couple of rats, hitting the bait, DON'T SHOOT Them,
leave them as they are your decoys, they will bring more targets to shoot, in the future.......... ;)
Or shoot them off, then complain and wait for more targets to show up............your choice............... ::)
Tia,
Don

Which "R" are you feeling right now?
Relief, or, Regret ?
Hunter

Thanks Don, but that plan takes more self control than I can muster! If a rat shows up, he’s a target, simple as that! No regrets, and no relief either because I know there’s got to be more out there somewhere.
-
you could have very well put a dent in the population, bro. ;D
I agree with Tom though...they'll be back. May take them awhile, but they'll be back. I eradicated two batches at my house and I thought I was done. Couple of years later, I hear the rustling in the grass and I see the fruits chewed up on the ground and in the trees.
I thought that old tomcat would pay the rent, but apparently I can't rely on that freeloader.

Paul, how often do the bears show up at the pile. If they are coming in there more than 3 to 4 times a week the rats will back off, bears will eat rats if the opportunity arises. Also we are dry in this area and they will looking for water if they do not have it close by.

Chris, the bears have been showing up more frequently, but not more than once or twice a week where before it was maybe once or twice a month. There is a water source near by, there is a small stream that runs about 100 feet behind our property. I'm sure there will be more, eventually.... :D

Wow I can't believe you ran out of Rats........ :o.... after months of nothing, I got a new Patio Rat, it doesn't come every night, but 2 to 3 times a week, Time to setup the Radio controlled Pellet gun, I might try my .177 Walther Dominator, it has a match trigger that breaks at a light pull witch should allow the servo to make less noise and have a quicker response...... we'll see what happens....... ;D

Kevin, I can't believe it either! Who'da thunk there'd be a rat shortage? I just gat a new scope today also, I need some target practice so bring on them rats!
A nice light trigger on a .177 may be just the ticket for your patio rat. Smaller projectile, less noise, smaller hole, less mess, what's not to like about that? I hope you get him!
