What's your thoughts on using a steel roll/spring pin in place of the solid lever pin? I need to replace mine and am wondering how it would work.
Its #18 in the picture

A roll pin would probably crush and deform from the repeated pressure of cocking. Then again the treated steel may hold up as well or better than the (probably ) mild steel of the factory pin. You'd probably lose nothing by trying, though you should probably order a spare pin, and possibly spare cocking arm, when you order your barrel.

A roll pin is slightly larger than it's nominal size, and gets compressed to it's nominal size after you hammer (or press) it into place. I would hate to have to pound a roll pin in there when I could just use a regular pin.
