Title: Dreamline .30
Post by: Prouzy on November 05, 2019, 12:22:57 PM
I have not seen much on this, so thought Id get it out there.  In this case, the DreamTact.  Mostly the appeal was the modularity to it, and wanted to begin with the .30  I was hesitant because I was not sure it would handle the .30 as well as other platforms.  Ive had a few other .30 pellet shooter platforms and I would say this is holding its own.  Out of the box, shooting mid 800s with the 44.75gr, but not getting hing up on the velocity until I get a few hundred through it at different fill pressures to settle the regulator/system.

I had immediately planned to change the stock to something more suitable to bench rest, eg rear bag, check rest, etc. but I am pleasantly surprised at the ergonomics.  The barrel will certainly flex some if you apply pressure, but thus far seems to retain POI for now.  Im going to continue to evaluate this, especially when using a bottle reservoir.

I havent adjusted anything yet, but pleased with it so far.  I dont care much for probe filling, but I wanted the tube for its aesthetics and positioning a bipod more towards the muzzle.  Very quiet.  a few groups at 50yd then moved out to 75yd as I wanted this to be at least 75yd shooter.  This is an average group (my thumb nail bed is 0.9in across), pulled the high one but it is what it is.  This was in 5-10mph wind L>R 5 shots.  some where a bit better, some a bit worse but overall 0.5 to 1.2 inch groups out of the box of bipod only.  Im not a great shooter anyway  ;D

That's an awesome group.
I'm looking at the bottle version on .30 caliber.
This gives me hope.

I went with the tube because I have an extra bottle, that way I could have the option as well as place a bipod mount further down. Although, I found it to not be too unbalanced as is and already saw a rail extension on another guys rifle that will fit the bottle as well. Then there will be no need for a bottle or tube clamp. Not as powerful as my Crown .30 but everything else seems similar, mechanically. I liked the idea of being able to change pistol grip and buttstock although I found the buttstock to be pretty good for me. I did get a larger palm swell vertical grip, however.
