Title: Texan 457 with tx2 valve
Post by: Rctk1 on October 28, 2019, 10:11:41 PM
Do you know if the new texans that have the steel tx2 valve be able to use the newer CF TX2 tank. The steel tank is rated at 3000 psi vs 3625 from the CF. My issue is the possibility of a valve lock.

Several who have upgraded their .457 Texans to the new Tank / Valve are experiencing valve lock at full tank pressure with lighter projectiles and hammer spring adjustment at maximum. AF is currently silent about the issue but they have been made aware of multiple instances of it!

I have Texan 457 that came with the TX2, and was able to change the tank to a CF Acecare one, no problem. I do not have valve lock with up to 3800 psi (most I tested) and 350gr NSA slugs. I do not advise going over the 3650 specified for the TX2 with CF bottle.
