Hi guys I am a newbie looking forward to buying my first pcp. Right now i am considering a .25 cal cricket since an acquaintance of mine is selling it. My only concern is how loud it is because i already have tinnitus and i'd like to avoid aggravating it and making it worse. By reading online since i don't have the option to go and test it myself right now is that it is pretty quiet for a .25 apart from the hammer slap it makes which might seem loud to the shooter because of the bullpup design. Do any of you own this pcp? Would you say that it requires any sort of hearing protection?

Hi Abergard,
I just got a used one this week. I have only had time to shoot it into the ground to test that it works, but I can confirm that it's reasonably quiet. It is MUCH more quiet than the Kral I had owned before which absolutely needed a LDC to be shot in my yard. I don't plan on adding anything to the cricket to quiet it down. I hope this helps!

I have the carbine in .25 and the hammer slap is pretty much all you will hear. That is with the factory suppressor installed. I can't say what the noise level is with an aftermarket one attached.

I have the carbine in 25 cal and a power tuned bull pup in 25 cal. both are very accurate, the carbine is extremly quite but the power tuned pup isnt. My quietest rifle is the 22 cal Taipen mutant standard, and also very accurate.
