I'm interested in the Scout .308 and the Ranger .45, any information you would like to share.
Shot strings, favorite bullet weights, pros and cons. What bullets have the flattest trajectory.
Thanks for sharing

I have not heard of anyone receiving a new XP in the past few years. Not sure what Dan is doing with airguns lately. Some say he was behind the Development of the Epox Badger.
If you want something similar there is a steal on the GTA forum classifieds. Look for a Extreme 408 caliber. Listed for about half of new price and as good as XP. I have had 2 Extremes and they are excellent.

Yes Dan is the Man behind the Badger 40 cal!I talked to him a few months back and got him to make me a barrel and bolt probe in 357 for mine that is awesome! 357 Probably should have been the platform from the start,,,I turned down a brass hammer and increased the weight by 25 grams ...357 barrel in 1-26 twist, getting 1 inch groups at 50 yards for 3 shots on a 4300 psi fill.Throwing 155 gr slugs at 935.Anyhow,got off track!!!I was shocked at when I sent him the email he responded within 24 hours and had barrel ready in a week.Wish he was doing all his guns that fast!

When is the last time you heard that someone received a completed gun from him? Just curious. Ray

I had a Ranger45 serial number 12, it was a 4 month wait at that time. I purchased a AccurateMolds 2 cavity steel mold for a 408 grain classic Keith SWC, it was a great bullet, reaching in the mid 790’s in FPS.
My posts from the TAG forum were on the XP website for a few years.
It was a 28 inch barreled walnut conventional classic stocked rifle that made just under 800 FPS with that 408 grain bullet, it gave 2 full power shots and a finisher, best 2 shot groups at 100 yards were just under a inch.
It has a 2 power system available that consists of 2 hardened steel socket head screws that you arrange on the bolt. I shot it full power most of the time.
It came with a TJ barrel that I had them replace, it had a very rough interior, and was not consistent with the excellent marching on the Ranger 45. The manufacturing of the TJ barrels does not leave the smoother interior finishes like those manufactured by pulling a button. The first barrel the roughness was easy to see as it was 45 caliber, I fired only a handful of shots through it, but TJ barrels are excellent shooters.
I took a lot of wood off mine as the stock closely resembled a 1903 match rifle, it ended up being a attractive classic stocked, lightweight rifle.
I was pesting full time and living on a vineyard while I owned the rifle. I had a 300 yard range with 3x4 steel plate, with a 8 inch gong in the middle. I shot the Ranger 45 out to 265 yards in field positions where 100 % of my shots would have been elk rib cage hits.
While I owned it I also bought a Haley 257 Scandalous and the Ranger soon gathered lint in the closet. The difference in long distance groups was dramatic between the two rifles. Both rifles were 4500 psi fill guns, but they would lock up past 3600 psi.
Build quality between the Haley and the Ranger was also dramatic. Jack made his rifles one at a time with shop tools in his garage, XP Rangers were made in a modern HPA machine shop, both worked well, but that XP was finely machined and was built like a bank vault. It reminded me of my 454 revolvers I owned years ago.
Hope this helps.

I have a XP-Ranger 45 s/n 043 28” barrel and I waited over two years to get mine and that’s been several years ago. Now I’m looking for parts in case I need them. My gun needs tuning as it’s lost about 50 fps. RC’s gun was always faster than mine. These need main spring replacement ever so often due to spring set but I still love mine.

I just visited the XP web site they say they're doing an update and going to offer a full line of pistols

I have a DAQ 308 that I just ordered a couple of new springs for it to see it will help it get a little more fps seems like after time the springs get a set to them does matter which brand you have.

I have the xp 45 ranger 36inch barrel shooting 4300 psi 416g bullet on air over 900fps … the gun has high and low power I start out shooting precision mold 416 g flat nose ,and a precision mold 349 g casull on high power … then go to low power at 34-3500 psi 255g flat nose bullet lee mold then finish off with 140 round ball at over 1100 fps … lower bullet pic is 349g casull after smashing threw 6-7 sheets of 3/4 plywood ... ;D Dan makes the best single shot big bore that I have seen with this low power high power set up … materials are top notch machining is second to none ,,, I guess when you are a pneumatic engineer that builds parts for Boeing aircraft this is the type of airguns you build ... :D I also bought the badger was won of the first 10 sold on airgun depot for $599 … what a deal of a steel that was … shoots 196g precision flat nose at over 900fps …

I have had my XP for a couple years now in the gun cabinet. They were back logged when i ordered mine. Ive lost interest not to mention it loves air so it drains my carbon tank pretty quick. Although i have been a member for years i guess im not chatty enough so trying to log 20 posts to meet the requirements for posting for sale.
