Title: Nikon Prostaff EFR or Barska 2nd Gen on an HW95?
Post by: Stinger177 on October 21, 2019, 08:44:49 PM
My brother is considering a scope for his new HW95.

I'm suggesting the Nikon 3-9x40 Prostaff EFR P3 (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FLZJZYQ/?coliid=I2DC9TUFVOJKA5&colid=2RX7B4VFGTOJJ&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it) which is on sale right now (see bargain gate).

My brother is wondering if this Barska 3-9x42 2nd Gen (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007QEUWSI/ref=ask_ql_qh_dp_hza) is springer rated for the HW95.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I have a Nikon on my R9 and HW98k
Bought them from a member on here, the scopes are clear and hold up well.

Thanks Derek.  :D

Is it the same Nikon as what I suggested?

Dennis I run the Nikon EFR on my Hw95 and had one on my Rx1. The one on the Rx1 is in for service. It was probably damaged from not addressing barrel droop issues. They are excellent scopes well worth the money. Their only downside is they don't have a mildot or bdc reticle. Still a very nice scope. I'm at work now. Call me tomorrow sometime.

Thanks Ron.

I know all about the EFR as I've had one on my HW30. I don't mind the lack of mildots as I don't shoot far enough for them to matter that much.

I'll give you a shout tomorrow.

I own both of these and IMHO the Nikon Prostaff EFR is by far the better scope.  In fact, I may just need to buy another.........
