I did a search, but couldn't find an answer to my question. I want a new HW 50s to go along with my old .177 50s. I would like to install a .20 caliber barrel. I have a couple of .20 barrel/breech blo, cks for the R9, R1, R10, etc. Will they fit on the newer 50s? If not will a HW30 breech block fit?

The 30 will not, it has a ball detent where the 50 has a chisel type, the R9/HW95 block will fit on a newer 50 tube and work correctly but!!!!!! the cocking arm from the 50 has to be used and u will need to remove about 8 thousands of an inch or so from both sides of cocking arm area where it fits into the R9 breech block, the R9 block is narrower in the slot where the arm fits, the R9 block is also taller, and will need to remove a slight amount of material inside of the stock channel to keep the cocking arm from rubbing the stock, that is now caused from the taller R9 block, if you don't remove the correct amount of wood in the channel it will cause the stock to crack when the cocking arm is pulled down, the other thing u may encounter is if the arm has a Delrin insert it may drag a little due to the geometry change form the taller barrel block! these are all simple fixes, I know because I have an R9 .20cal barrel on my newer HW50 ;)

Thanks, Mark. With a little care and patience I should be good to go!

It is a lot more than a "little care and patience"! It is removal of metal, either with a mill or a file.
Also, when you say "old HW50", how old do you mean? Mark is talking about the one that is currently in production.
I do not know if all that he said applies to the 25mm tubed one?
