Does anyone happen to know whether the HW90’s gas ram is the same design as the one in the Theoben Eliminator Mark IV? Does it include the dampener/recoil reduction tech Theoben had in their’s?

I'm not familiar with the theoben rifles but I am with the Hw90. I can tell you that it has what they call an "inertia plug" set in the gas ram. If you need any more information on it pm me for my phone #. I've become very familiar with this particular rifle lately. They're not that popular so there's not a lot of reliable information out there.

Thanks Ron, PM sent. For anyone that stumbles across this thread I am researching whether Theoben owners can use the HW90/RX1,2 gas ram for spare parts. Weihrauch advertises their ram as being Theoben, which may make it interchangeable. So far I've only found the following for the Theoben, but not an equivalent for the Weihrauch.

Sent you a PM, Theoben rifles may use gas rams with the same engineering as the Weihrauch. Weihrauch used theoben style gas rams under license but they are physically different and not interchangeable.
-
I believe some Theoben (newer ones) use the HE (high efficiency) ram and the HW90/RX 1/2 uses a non HE ram, I don’t know why or if they are interchangeable or if their internal parts are the same.
-
i think that my rx2 has the name theoben on it

Thanks to all that replied. As I dig up more info I’ll try to add it here. I really like Theoben’s efforts to improve on the gas ram design and was hoping the Weihrauch’s cross license allowed them to use the HE design... it would have been another good reason/excuse to get the HW90/RX1.

I have an early HW90 that uses an aluminum dummy piston as opposed the the later steel version.
Mine shows a bit of wear to the threads that the shrader valve screws into and l would like to replace it.
However l haven't been able to find anyone with a spare.
Does anyone know someone who has one for sale? Alternatively has anyone modified the latter steel version to fit? From what l can tell the new one should fit - the only difference is the set screw that holds the large pin that holds the dummy piston to the main tube.
Thanks
George

Try airgunspares (TW Chambers)

l've tried them and a few others, but none of them have any of the early dummy pistons.
l'm hoping someone might know of someone who has one or someone who can confirm that the new one can be modified to fit.
