was wondering if there was anything out there a little longer that may fit the gun? Was thinking maybe around 14" ? Not afraid to cut one down and recrown. Just something with the transfer port in the right location. Will crosman sell the stock lothar?

I have 1720t for ratting, I only miss if I mess up.
What kinda power are you looking for, the factory LW barrel kicks butt.
NO need to fix what works IMO.

Yes, crosman will sell the 1720T barrel. The only other drop-in I am aware of, is the shorter 1701 barrel.
PS: I agree with the others, mine have been very accurate. Adding 2" wouldn't provide much power increase, either.

RDB, Really no need to change the barrel on a 1720T as it has a VERY good Lothar Walther barrel from the factory unless your looking for a different look or something. The 1720T bench rested will shoot with any gun you put it up against in factory trim if you can hold it steady!! It's all about how steady you can hold it!! Have fun and save your money!! J.L.

Thanks guys. This one for some reason has been a problem child. Likes to spiral pellets. Recrowned, lead smoothed no t port snags, shroud on or off. I'll order up a new barrel and see how she goes.

I'm curious on what crosman's current price is for this barrel.

Agreed, my friend’s 1720T has a very good barrel and virtually every user report for it is favorable. It’s rare to get a stinker LW barrel but it happens occasionally. For example I got a bad one with a custom shop 2400KT. It wasn’t the gun. The problem continued when I moved it to another platform, and it did not improve after massaging the leade, bore, and crown. I ended up replacing it with a $20 Crosman barrel that turned out to be a stellar performer. Go figure.
Having said that, I still like your plan of getting a LW replacement. The race doesn’t always to go the swift…but that’s the way to bet.

Hi all, looked for Crosman ticket for days, but I have it now. The last 1720 barrel I purchased was on 12/05/18 and pn #1720-017 was 69.25 and it shoots as expected, hard to beat for the money. cave

Thanks for taking the time to dig that up caveman. Looks like I'll be placing an order soon.
