Title: Need help with new dreamline tactical!
Post by: chwillbill68 on September 16, 2019, 12:58:54 AM
I bought a dreamline tactical 22cal from Utah airguns a couple of weeks ago.  I am having trouble zeroing it at 20 yards.  I run out of adjustment. I have tried a couple different scope rings but neither worked.  Wondering if I need to use FX rings. This is my first FX air gun.  It’s almost like the tactical rail is not even close to parallel with the barrel.   Wondering if anyone has one and had this issue or any other thoughts as to fix it.

Thanks Bill C!

FX No Limit adjustable rings are the bee’s knees!  That is why they sell out from all suppliers so fast 💨!!!  Those will solve your problem if used correctly.

I there any adjustment on the rail?  You may want to contact FX USA and see if they have a fix. They have been very responsive the couple times I contacted them with questions/issues with my Dreamline Classic.  I was interested in getting one of the kits to convert my Classic to a tactical and one of the main reason was having that rail and not having to use the FX no limits rings. I do have a set on it now because the magazine is so big, I needed something to get the scope to clear the magazines. But, IMHO, that rail should be level with the barrel and you should be able to use any low or medium rings with that rail.

I sent an email to the Utah guys to see what they say. But I will look for a pair of those fox rings.

I had the exact same issue, mounts and scope are fine on my other rifles so the rail must be out on the Tac version.
Temp fix was to shim the rear mount with a credit card which worked perfectly, I did however buy the FX adjustable mounts which worked great as you can zero using the mounts leaving the scopes moa adjustment perfectly centred. So impressed I plan on putting them on all my rifles.

Thats my only complaint, but yes same here.  Im guessing because it is a modular add on and tolerance is a bit lax.  +2 (or 3) on adjustable mounts.

FX marketing at its finest. Using mags and rails that make you unable to use standard rings so you need to buy there adjustable rings. Unlikely a "mistake" on there part rather how they planned it.

i sure glad i got the streamline and don't have to use skyscraper scope rings.more shots in a mag/clip is not worth having the scope so high.

Its a fairly simple solution, such as not using the rail, shims, other mounts (https://www.amazon.com/NcSTAR-RAH24-Adjustable-Height-Insert/dp/B00KCYMV7Y (https://www.amazon.com/NcSTAR-RAH24-Adjustable-Height-Insert/dp/B00KCYMV7Y) ), etc and insignificant for what you get from the platform, IMO.  The height of the scope is about the same as the Impact, which people seem to be shooting more than fine, not to mention this is something you contend with on bullpups and most certainly another popular platform in the Airforce series.
