Title: New Hatasn Striker Edge .177 $62.59
Post by: birdmove on September 05, 2019, 08:28:55 PM
The color is harvest moon. The photo looks black and white, but not sure if this is thr one that looks kind of pinkish?? This is a springer with scope. Looks like three left at Amazon.

If this was a .22 I'd order one for sure.

Pinkish camo is the "Muddy Girl" pattern. "Harvest Moon" camo is black & white (actually gray-scale).

This is a very good deal for the combo package. Scope is ok until the recoil knocks something loose inside. This could happen in 100 pellets or it might last a lifetime. A gamble, but at these prices not a big one.

I'm passing because I have enough .177s. I would be tempted if it was a .22 or a .25 caliber

Hatsan's website has "Edge springs" for $49.99. It comes without a scope. I think it must be a refurb. That's a .22 caliber. Website says shipping to me near Hilo, Hawaii, would add $20. Not bad. Also considering a new Crosman Summit Ranger in .22 at Midway for $63.88, plus $23 shipping. It doesn't seem to say if it comes with a scope though.

The Hatsan website Edge Spring deal for $49.99 (+$10 S&H for my location) appears to be new rifles in 177, 22, and 25 calibers. No scope or other accessories, just the bare rifle. I think they are trying to reduce remaining old stock (parts?) of this model in preparation for releasing "new & improved" versions.

The Amazon offering is a slightly better deal IMO, but ONLY if you want the Edge in 177 caliber. Free Amazon shipping for me but I have to pay SALES TAX. It also depends on the value placed on the scope and the Camo stock. I think the scope is worth ~$10 and camo stock is worth ~$0. So ~$60 for the Hatsan site special or ~$68 for the Amazon version with a scope and camo stock? Pretty close call.

For ~$30 more my current preference would be to wait for a refurb Mod95 Spring in the caliber I wanted. IMO the Walnut stock, better open sights, and Quattro trigger are well worth the $79.99 +$10 S&H.

My clearance Crosman Summit Ranger 22 from Midway did not come with a scope.  I knew that before ordering and still think it was a bargain at that price. I really liked everything about the Ranger except the trigger which was a big disappointment as received. After learning how the new style trigger worked I made one small change to a lighter spring. Some final screw adjustments and the trigger now feels perfect for the rifle.

That's the Amazon pricing 'bot at work. I believe someone got 1 of the 3 left for $60.92 (or less). Usually the price jumps up after one moves, but I think the last 2 sold very quickly after that.

Either 2 more people got the deal or one person got the last two rifles as a pair. Not this one but I have sniped both remaining air rifles when "only 2 left in stock" and the price is really low. That way I have a second one as a backup or gift.
