Title: 880 v.1 chamber seal

I was looking on a Daisy 880 parts website.

It listed the abutment seal for the 1993 and later models to also work in the 1970-72 guns.
Anyone have experience with this?
I had believed that the seals for the v.1 design were unobtainable...........

Well, for one thing there was no 880 before late '72 so my guess is it's a typo. As you know, the very first seal setup was quite different than the second one that you refer to as a "top hat" seal, aka "cup seal". Bottom line is AFAIK the new seal won't work in the old gun.
