Title: Marksman Model 59 Info
Post by: Vaughn99 on September 03, 2019, 07:59:22 PM
Hello,

Looking for what year these Mod59's were made as I was told its about 35 years old. I am also looking for the specs as its FPS etc. I was told 1000 FPS but don't think they made them that fast 35+ years ago as the internet has nothing on a Model 59 that I could find. I only found a reference to the Model 55 and was told it is a copy of a Diana Model or a Beeman R9 or R10. Under the rear sight were the barrel breaks to cock it, it has these markings "Marksman Mod 59 Cal .177/4.5mm" on one side, the other side states "Marksman Huntington Beach Co 92649 made in W.Germany". I am also looking at a value as I paid 100.00 for it has a few handling marks on the wooden stock. The rear of the receiver has a Rail for a scope mount and was wondering if some one can post a picture of the mount I need to mount a scope. Lastly being the only Marksman I found was a 55 which is a little different than mine, mainly this one I have the Model 59 has a set screw behind the trigger to adjust the weight and fully adjustable rear sight which I didn't see on the Model 55 or could have overlooked it. There was also no FPS listed for the model 55 to give me an at min FPS to go from. Thanks for all your help in advance.

Thanks

This pic is from a Marksman Cat.

I believe it was late ‘80s I got it. Lists 910-940 fps (.177), 24 lb cocking force, Rekord trigger.

That’s all I got on it. $100 sounds like a decent deal.

Hello,

Thank you very much for the information, does your catalog show or tell any info about the scope mounting system?

Thanks

The rifles in this cat./this page show an integral scope-rail on top of the receiver.

Ur’s doesn’t have one?

Hello,

Yes it has the rail present but looks like some kind of mount is used as there 2 recoil points/Recess's that the mount locks into so I thought there would be a specific mount needed? Maybe I am wrong.

Thanks

the rifle takes 11mm airgun scope rings or a one piece mount.
