I've ordered my Red Raptor .25 and I'm patiently waiting my turn. I sold my taipan veteran to cover the cost to get the raptor, which was my main rifle. Sad to see it go, but at the same time I feel it will be worth it.
While I wait I am borrowing my brother in laws MROD. This was originally my mrod that I pieced together while I had all kinds of mrod parts laying around. It is an unregulated .22 with a MMHF Barrel. My goodness this thing is a real shooter! It is using an SSG with stock hammer, Rocker1 LDC, and a chopped synthetic stock from back when I was messing around with my BROD.
Here is 60 shots from 2600psi to 1600psi

Inside 50 yards, I hit literally anything I wanted to hit. I shot a wasp off of some weeds at 40 yards. POI went up and down ever so slightly according to the FPS, but it was so minimal it really didn't matter. I'm glad that I gave the MMHF barrel to my brother in law , I probably would have sold it and regretted it! Although I have shot the fx crown and taipan, both phenomenal guns, there is something about this MROD that just feels right. I guess, shooting the crown felt a little numb. The mrod has a bit more character to me. Maybe I just spent too much time with mrods lol.
While I'm waiting for the raptor, I believe I got my shooting "needs" covered. lol

Nothing wrong with an Mrod! Still have my .22 Mrod, and it's a real shooter too! But, I have a wide variety to shoot while waiting on my Raptor Mini. Glad you have a fall back to keep those skills sharp while you wait!

It is really hard to beat a .22 Synrod/Mrod all tuned up, trigger adjusted, and equipped with a MMHF barrel. Also, equipped with a LW air tube from JSAR. I'll likely never sell mine. It's just a real joy to pickup and shoot. I keep mine unregulated, too. Very reliable and very accurate!
That's not to say it's anything like a Raptor. They too come with a TJ barrel plus much, much more!!!

I still like my 25 synrod. It always produced 40 FPE stock. It has been accurate to an inch from 20 to 50 yards with Discovery pellets.
Yeah, it just works.

Nice string for an unregulated gun. Smart move selling it to your brother in law, so you can shoot it during times like this.
I’ve read some of your other posts. Seems like you’re a big JSAR fan, I can see why. Hopefully that raptor exceeds your expectations, or you’ll be kicking yourself for selling that taipan lol

Jacob, excellent MRod build! Your bro in law is lucky to have it. I too am waiting on my red and black Raptor in .22. I was second in line for a build but changed barrel options and JSAR said approximately 2 weeks till barrel arrives. In the meantime I have my Regal and Compatto to keep me busy 👍.

Thanks guys for the compliments on this Mrod. A while back I posted asking what would be a good starter PCP for my bro in law. The usuals were all listed, but I decided to just eat the cost and let him have a Mrod built out of my extra parts. He was very happy with the gift.
He started with the crosman barrel and I swapped it out for the MMFH barrel knowing it would be safer in his hands than mine. Lol.
I am a JSAR fan. I just like what they are building and I like the customer service. Those guys are doing a great job. Plus the raptor is the brod I had, but much nicer, lighter, shorter and more power.

Nice job on setting up the Bro-in-law with a great gun, that way you can borrow it if needed.
I have a MM HF barrel for one of the Prods I have, they are great shooting barrel with JSB's & polymags. 50 yards and under is a no joke and kill shot unless I mess up the shot. I ordered the Raptor Mini in .25 cal and waiting for it to arrive.

Wow, you have that Mrod dialed in. It must have the air tube extension on it to get that many shots?

Dillon, your Raptor Mini should be shipped next week after speaking with Matt! I think it was your barrel he was getting ready to mount right after I spoke to him a few days ago 😉👍.

Although not the .25 Raptor ordered, I'm posting the worthy .22 cal Synrod string analyzed at a 4% ES. It will be interesting to see strings from the Raptor once you have it, and it's been through the break-in period.

No air tube extension. It just looks long because part of the stock has been hacked off and it had a short shroud. That’s the power of the SSG.

I will definitely do a report on the raptor. I’m considering doing a video as well.
