Title: NOOB on to run!
Post by: sgtbunny on August 29, 2019, 01:48:56 PM
So why not Run, Stumble, Fall instead of Crawl, Walk, Run.    ;D

Today I ordered the NOE mold for the .356 84 grain pellet.

I know, I know.  I don't even own the gun yet.  I plan on purchasing the FX Impact mk2 .357 when it ships in the next couple of months.

I figured I would get a head start on it and make up a bunch of pellets.  I figured that JSBs typically shoot extremely well with FX guns so with the NOE mold, I should be ok.

I have roughly 400lbs of lead and always getting more so I will have plenty to play with.  I plan on sorting by head and weight as well so when the gun comes in I can do several tests.

Smart man getting ahead of the game like that lol.
Now you’ll be ready to test things out as soon as the gun comes in. ;)

I've found the deep and medium base pin pellets from that mold give good accuracy in most of my .35 rifles BUT the flat base pin (heaviest) pellets are scrap and don't shoot worth a (product of Uranus Co.).

That being said, I rarely shoot pellets and mostly have unchoked rifles and shoot slugs.  It all depends on what FPE your rifle can put out and hence what weight it can push to a decent velocity... I had an Ataman that displayed consistent good accuracy but it didn't shoot anything but pellets so DOWN THE ROAD IT WENT! Good gun otherwise http://atamanguns.com/product/item/176 (http://atamanguns.com/product/item/176), I'm not knocking that, just not powerful enough for me.
