I bought this scope 1 1/2 year ago (from Trenier) for using on my 457 Texan and LOVE THE RECTICLE. It's a MIL scope.
https://www.trenieroutdoors.com/optics-2/athlon-optics/athlon-ares-btr-2-5-15x50-aplr3-ffp-mil-reticle/ (https://www.trenieroutdoors.com/optics-2/athlon-optics/athlon-ares-btr-2-5-15x50-aplr3-ffp-mil-reticle/) (and plan to switch it to my Slayer if it ever arrives).
Then a couple weeks ago I bought the 'same' scope to mount on my Wicked Air Rifles FLEX+ with that Titanium tube and multiple barrels and reaffirmed how much I like it.
"Athlon Optics Ares BTR Rifle Scope 30mm Tube 2.5-15x 50mm Side Focus First Focal Illuminated APLR3 MOA Reticle Matte"
Note that this time it's a MOA but has the same style recticle.
These scopes are 1/2 price sale at Midway right now so they are $399!

Just had to pass on the deal to the GTA, they have it in both MOA and MILDOT

I have several Athlon scopes that i use on different guns. I still stick to Vortex on my "top tier" stuff but they are great glass for the money.

The Athlon is a great scope . I’ve done a side by side with a 2.5x10-32 Vortex PST and the glass on both are pretty close and hard to tell the difference . Last was a Discovery HD 4x20-50 it pains me to say it as the price was a lot less than the other 2 but the Discovery HD glass is much brighter , clearer and has absolutely zero dispersion.
I think the turrets are what makes it or breaks it . This time the Vortex was the clear winner , with both others tied for second . Box test on all being spot on ( All FFP mil/mil) .
For 399 the Athlon is a great choice . If you look close at my avatar , the Impact is wearing a 6x24-56 Argos BTR .

How thick is the retical on the athlon , on my discovery ffp ,on low power the rectical is hard to see ,love the scope but not a good choice for low light situations, thats a good price ,I googled and all the usual stores are in the 550-800 range

Go to the Amazon link here and it has a description with recticle pictures for MIL and then MOA

Or look up APLR3 recticle
I find it works at low and high power and I can compensate for drop and windage better than most other recticles

This is a bargain for that scope. I have a couple of the Athlon scopes in the mil dot reticle as well but paid around $700 vs this $399. I may just upgrade the Hawke scope I currently have on my .457 Texan.

Dadgum enabler's, got one on the way, it's only money right, can't take it with you bla bla bla. At least I'm single and don't have to buy jewellery to appease the little lady LOL.

Going to mount this scope on my slayer, it will be the 4th scope to try on the big bore , hopefully the last , I have a weaver classic extreame 2.5 x 10 x 56 with the german# 4 illuminated dot on the slayer now ,its a tank have one on a 6.5 grendell and its a good low light scope great glass for the money, but no other aim points so the altros btr should work better on the slayer

Mine arrived today ,its the older model with the slotted caps instead of the hex screw but I'm keeping it really like the retical, the illuminated retical is unusual in that there is a off position between every brightness setting so you don't have to cycle through it every time you turn it on and only the cross hair portion is lighted not the bold part of the retical, so at 2.5 power only a small x at the center, perfect for my needs

Mine is the 6x24 50mm and I love it. Only time it comes off is when I am wanting a lighter scope with ultra clear glass. The the Zeiss 4x14 goes on. Talk about glass! :o Unreal!!!
It shows tiny holes in paper at 100 yards on 14x better than my other good scopes do at 24x. Crisp just begins to describe the Zeiss. But you pay for the Top Tier Scopes.
Years ago when using Zeiss and Swarovski scopes on my jAir Guns, I was literally laughed at, and put down for using top glass on Airguns. Now it is becoming more and more common. Same for my use of FFP scopes. Long before thy became popular in the US. Man, they were expensive back them.
At one time, I could afford Top Tier Glass. With some of my scopes in the 3 grand range. And that was when 3+grand was a LOT!!! that was 20-30 years ago. Which would be the equivalent of 5+ grand today.
Sadly, those days are long gone. So arr my Schmidt & Bender Scopes. man I miss Fantastic Glass! but happily, good competent scopes can be has for much less now. I do stay away from some of the pretenders. Such as that other bird brand. Yuch! ;D They have taken airgunners for a ride for years. What they do have above other brands is advertising and product placement. And that is about the extent of it.

Great glass I love mine .

Laughing at others equipment just shows someone hasn't quite arrived...definitely unkooool.
There are literally MILLIONS of scope out there with all kinds of features and glass is on ONE of the things to look at when contemplating a purchase
and MANY companies making them...making a choice can be difficult unless you have DEEP pockets...AND even then...plus in today's economies companies are gobbling up each
other at a prodigious rate so today's "excellence" can become tomorrows "garbage" QUICKLY.
You pays yo' money and takes yo' chances.
Good Luck

I just put a Leupold Mark AR MOD 1 4-12x40mm on my Badger. Field of view is on the small side and has a P5 dial, but it's super light, has mil dots, and AO. Looks to be discontinued but they had some on OpticsPlanet still. I zeroed it at 54yds and on 8x it's one dot down at 75 and two at 100! Was out busting osage oranges the other day. Great reactive target right there with NSA's 142gr BT HPs!
