Title: NUAH Submission - RAW hm1000x .25
Post by: etnhunter on August 10, 2019, 05:24:34 PM
Today I shot my first NUAH targets with a RAW hm1000x in .25 cal. at 100 yards.  Shot four five shot groups with the best of bunch attached.  Approximately 1.5", all inside or touching the 10 ring.

I didn't think to take any pictures of our shootin shed and bench today.  Its about an hour's drive back up there or I would take a couple.  Sorry about that.  Range was calculated by a Bushnell laser rangfinder, here is a picture of my homemade target stand along with my RAW and a box of the NSA slugs used.  This picture has all four targets I shot this morning, shot from a wooden bench using sand bags.  Wind was light so I got lucky today.

Nice shooting Dennis. I like that portable target stand and that RAW is mighty spiffy too!

Thanks.  That RAW makes the shooter look better, LOL.  Target stand is very simple, six 24" sections of 3/4" PVC, two elbows and two T's plus rebar or steel stakes.  All can be had at Home Depot for around $15.  Well, I already had the corrugated plastic sheet and zip ties - that would add a little cost.

Nice target and RAW you have there. My .25 HMx looks just like it :D

Before I add you to the list I need an exact measurement of your group size. I can't accept approximate and 1 1/2" is the dividing line between Sharpshooter and Expert.

I dug out my calipers - I measure 1.483" ctc.
Thanks

Thanks for the clarification Dennis. I added you to the list in the Expert Division. Congratulations and welcome to the Club.

Outstanding Dennis!
I can now appreciate what it takes to pull that off.
Took me many, many, MANY tries.

Congrats

Thanks.  You know, that RAW has been in my safe untouched for two years until I just recently was contemplating selling it to fund a Slayer purchase.  Then after reading a little on the forums I learned you can shoot slugs through it with no problems.  Purchased the NSA slugs two weeks ago and went to the range and was getting consistent 5 shot groups around 2 inches at 100 yards.  It shoots the JSB pellets great at 50 yards but groups opened up more at 100.  The slugs are great at 50 and 100.  I went back to the range yesterday with the NUAH targets and some better sand bags and concentrated a little harder.  That target I submitted was just my third attempt!  Needless to say, I don't think I will be parting with the RAW any time soon.
