Just received a a very well priced index head off of fleabay for my unimat db lathe /mill.
Already having some fun with it.
Now I can make equidistant holes very quickly and accurately:)
Here is a muzzle brake combined with a carbon shroud look. Only cost me27.50 per hole so far..

Very nice find!
Indexing head is a must have if you have a mill.
Good looking parts!

Not sure how I lived without it. I only have a tiny vintage unimat db200 lathe/mill.
Can't believe how useful that lindex head is.

Nice to see a Unimat put to good use. Mine is still in storage awaiting installation of DROs.

DRO. Digital readout. If properly installed, much more accurate than the dials on the x and y carriage.
Encoders read out distance travelled by the carriage.
Mine, reconditioned and sporting a quick-change toolpost.

Very Nice , Love the toolpost!
Dro sounds incredible ,expensive?
Ive had my unimat about 10 years now,
I then bought the milling post, 10mm drill chuck , and just got the index head with the 36,48 plates and round milling table for a good price.
I've been told that the unimat is now a collectable and have noticed prices going up a lot since i last looked.
I've found a 2nd unimat db locally and am thinking I will chop the base so I mount it as permanent milling /lathe combo as some have done.

DROs were pretty inexpensive, maybe $20 each. Mounting them is the hard part, which is why I’ve not done it yet.

Its not that hard, just mount them and you'll be wondering why you didn't do it earlier.

I googled it and wow that is too hard. I will be doing it for sure.
