After a year of good times the honey moon is over. Now it's time to invest some time in money to get it back to working like it use to.
It worked 14 months with 12 hours of run time without a hickup. Guess that's not bad. From what I've been reading about them does that mean the seals on the high pressure rod are in need of replacing?
Was just on AliExpress and I notice I can buy the whole top end assembly for about $150 which would pretty much ensure I get it right instead of guessing where the problem is.

Cheaper ;)

YEA........now that's exactly what I was looking for!
If that doesn't fix it .........then well I don't want to tell ya what I'm going to do to it.... ;D
Many thanks!

Hey Matt, before you go spending almost $100 let me send you the second stage rings I ended up with by mistake. I'll never use them as my Tuxing aka vevor uses a different design and when mine dies I'm getting a Shoebox.
-
i have a unknown brass high side piston and rings I can send you to see if the would fit.. Let me know..

Darn........too late. I've already put my order in. But what I plan to do is overhaul the now defunk one and keep it as a spare for the next go around. I'm sure it will happen but I didn't think after only 11 hours it would take a dump.
I did remove the two compression chambers to see what gave out. There's a clip of sorts that holds those black rubber looking seals(not sure what they are called but I know they have a name)stacked up on that piston rod. I understand they are know to give out. They were worn but not to the point of turning brittle. That clip breaking in 1/2 was the culprit. The green Orings weren't bad. Everything else didn't look too bad at all. Didn't see anything else broken but I haven't taken the piston out yet. The piston walls looked good.
Will let you know how the new part and runup go.

Ok Ray.
Many thanks and much appreciate it!
I'll take some pics of disassemply and reassembly to show ya what broke. A darn little "c" clip of sorts. >:(

From everything I've read the second stage rings are what go out first. They're not made of metal but some kind of fiber plastic and IMHO end up having the same problem as the 3rd stage o ring in the freedoms pump.

Having "cheap" expendable/repairable parts in machinery saves the cost of high dollar items. One old mentor always said "if your're gonna break something, and you WILL if you wrench...make it the CHEAPEST PART.
The metals in these compressors aren't really high quality materials and are expected to wear out faster. Keeping expendable spares on hand is a good idea...it isn't a long, hard job to "freshen up the top end". In the "old days" I used to replace piston rings on my two stroke racing MC's as a mater of course...usually before the next race....what is a two stroker but a compressor that gets a squirt of fuel...same as a diesel engine with a "Jake brake".
With the price of a new one running around 200 bucks, I cant see spending any more than 50 bucks or so on repair parts but that's ALWAYS debatable.
My "no name" 6000 psi comes with a two year warranty...but from a Chinese drop shipper who knows how that would work...hahahahahahaha ::) :P :o :o
When this one "breaks" I'm going to a larger two cylinder compressor that runs at a slower rpm...price seems to double every step up, but maybe a good one will show up.
Good Luck

Do you have one in mind?
I don't see any that stands out above the rest unless you don't mind paying 2k and up.
I might be able to do that if I sold ALL my guns but then what.......... ;D ::)
