Title: Nova Liberty "O" Ring Sizes ?
Post by: wll2506 on August 04, 2019, 02:04:08 PM
Does anyone have the correct list of "O" rings for the liberty ?

Looking at the schematics I think changing "O" rings in the gun should be pretty easy and no where near as difficult as many USA made guns. Who here has taken this gun apart ?

The one big advantage to PCP guns is when they fail it is very, very most likely a "O" ring problem, maybe a poppet problem, but mostly "O" ring. This sort of insures the gun itself can be useful for many, many years of use.

Thanks in advance guys.

Problem is Nova Vista hasn't sent any to ATI.. They said they would.. Tried to get Ty to send me a few .177 probe O rings and all I have gotten is crickets...  I asked for them 3 times...So don't hold your breath.. The diagrams state the o ring size, but it is cross section and OD...Also many can not be sourced from regular sellers as they are odd ball sizes...

Guess that leaves us with two choices:
- shoot it until it no longer holds air because we can't find a oring to fix it
-don't shoot it for fear if an oring fails it can't be fixed.

Hummm.....sounds like quite a delima.

Even if you don't use the rifle the Orings will still break down. As far as getting the exact size Oring I'm sure one that is a little over or under size can be made to work even if it means making the Oring groove deeper and wider to fit a Oring.

I have been using their CAD drawings to order from mcmaster carr.  They have the 90 durometer, but have not found any polyurethane ones.  Some like the bolt probe don't list their size.  Be sure to use the OD/thickness/Durometer,  I have a couple bags of useless O Rings I ordered from amazon and they based the limited data on the ID not OD.

I’m considering ordering a “Parts” Liberty and measuring the O Rings and find the closest SAE measurements.

I can always use the extra parts. IMHO this gun is one of the sleepers of the past few years !!

I hope ATI/Seneca also start offering O-rings/parts for the Freedom/Aspen as well.   It would be a shame for these platforms to fail because of lack of availability of parts.

The # of folks that have discovered this gun won’t let it happen, we all will find the parts for sure.

I’m contacting Jennifer tomorrow for Zo rings and finding out if they have another Luberty parts gun I can buy.

This gun is to good to let die for sure !!!

I don't have the Liberty, just the Freedom, but I am assuming (probably wrongly) that there are many similarities in O-rings and some of the parts.

Do you know if the barrels are the same between the two?

Thanks!   Makes me think slugs *should* work just as well out of the Freedom/Aspen as they do in the Liberty if the velocity is high right.

Someone, I don't remember who, said they had not had much luck shooting slugs out of a Freedom/Aspen.

When I redid the pump on my Freedom I went by the CAD drawing but I did notice they had a couple of their sizes switched around so I had to figure out exactly what I needed from measuring the original o rings.  I ordered mine from "The O Ring Store" and they were all exactly what I needed.

I will do that now.

When I get a Liberty "Parts" gun, I will take it apart and see if US standard sizes might work.

Wayne,

Do you have any of the O ring sizes that you measured ?

Were the Orings you ordered for the pump or other parts of the rifle too?

Just the pump Robert, I can't remember the exact sizes I ordered Will but I'll search through the manual and figure out which ones I did order.  I'll remember the mistakes in the manual as soon as I look at it.

I just order 10 each of the 006 and 007 urethane o rings from the o ring store.  They're expensive little potlickers but those are some tough o rings.  I just checked for the small o ring for the high pressure and an 006 fits it good.  I've got my Freedom pump tore down for my good non leaking one right now.  They're 90 Duro.  I use the 007's for probe o rings on several of my guns.

I can't paste the web link so you type
" Nova Liberty - O-Ring Rebuild Kit"

on google and you will find it on Captain O-Ring LLC web page.

This is what I found online. I hope that helps
