Title: My new Hajimoto tuned Umarex Gauntlet .22 (Pics with Sumo and new targets)
Post by: throbinskin on July 09, 2019, 03:01:04 AM
I'm new to PCP's and did a lot of homework on what I could afford and what I wanted.  Accuracy was my number one priority.  Silent "Quietness" was my number 2 ( I live in San Diego, California and neighbors do not like to hear pellet guns being shot) AND Budget was my number 3 priority! I didn't want to break the bank on my first PCP!
After watching tons of Youtube videos and lots of forums: I ran into crazy Cyclops and his scope reviews on Youtube... I learned a lot from him.  I then ran into A Hajimoto video - The Uramex God was shooting aspirins at 50 yards..  I watched all of his videos and new this was the gun I wanted for me and my 10-year-old son.  The Umarex Gauntlet .22 tuned by Hajimoto, a Falcon scope 3-18x50 from SWFA and a Sumo moderator from DonnyFL with a short shroud. I called Hajimoto left a message and he called me back the next day! We discussed what I wanted and man o man was he so cool and fun to talk to..  I discussed my priorities. and wants.  He ran the gun through some tests and with the short shroud/ Sumo kit and all of his mods.  He called me back after running the tests and said he was all done.  I love this guy.
July 3rd I received the gun, mounted the scope and shot at least 100 pellets through this baby on that day.  5 days later I have already shot over 3 cans (750 pellets)...  It is so accurate that we are trying to find smaller targets to hit.  At 50 yards my boy is hitting pennies that were hung on a wire.  50 YARDS !!!!  I'll include a picture. If you look at the picture I tried to capture through the scope You can see 3 white dots.  There should have been 4 dots.  Far right was, WAS a penny.  I shot it!  LOL!   The money could not hold up to the pellet so I had to buy a resetting steel target and grind down the plates to their respective currency size.  This should hold up better.  We are shooting quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennies at 50 yards.  The 1 1/2 inch target was just too boring because we were never missing!  LOL!
Thank you Hajimoto.  This gun is perfect, accurate, quiet, SUPER quiet and lots of fun.  Your videos are true.  As I can shoot a small target at 50 yards.  I need to find somewhere to go for longer shots.  50 yards is my max for the back yard.

50 yards...  Grey targets above.  White dots are from left to right (Quarter, dime, nickel, penny) Penny is missing because it was shot off...  Going to build a stronger currency target!  A wire does not hold up!

New Targets because shooting 2-inch targets and never missing is now boring! This gun is super accurate!

Haji is the man no doubt, I've watched all his videos and he does some fantastic work !!!  I'm sure that you and your son will love that gun for sure.

That's good news to hear. I haven't seen any feedback as yet on Haji's Gauntlet version, though I assumed it would be lights out.  I have the same two considerations, accurate and quiet. My only neg. is the Gauntlet is just kind of bulky, and a bit ugly.  But I suppose that doesn't really matter if it's really good. I do like the fact that it's a 3000 PSI fill.
Did you get all the mod's or just pick certain ones?

Nice set up, the Gauntlet/QB79 are a great performer.   San Diego isn't friendly to any projectile hurler, strange as it used to be so heavily veteran...

Looks accurate. Nice. Are you shooting  standing? Or bench rest?

I got the parts from Haj and did my own. His videos helped a lot. Especially impressed with the tuned regulator! Great experience.

The OP's looks great with the Donny moderator and 'short shroud'! I still have the original shroud and the Haji stack moderator and stripper in it.

It is laser accurate! Very consistent.

From 30 yards...
