Title: Athlon 4-12x40, springer rated?

Just received one of these. Was thinking of mounting it on an Hw50s (11 fpe) or a Hw30s (7 fpe). Are these springer rated? Couldn’t find any info by searching. Thanks in advance.

Joe,

Back in December 2016 when I contacted Athlon support on which of their scopes were springer rated, Trent responded and said they all are.

Thanks for that info for posting the deal over at the bargain gate! I may mount it to the Hw50s, seems like very decent glass for the money.

I emailed Athlon in July 2018 about running a Talos on a springer, and they said they "really wouldn't recommend it," and to get a BTR model with glass etched reticle for a springer. But they didn't flat out say no.

I just got an Athlon Talos 3-12x40 and used a Bullseye ZR mount to place it on my Hatsan 135. It seems to be doing well with that arrangement.
