Title: pc77 (plastic) iron sights?
Post by: cedestech on July 29, 2011, 10:13:46 PM
I've been googling and searching here, I've found the steel breech which will solidly locate the barrel, I've
found the sights for the steel breech (back ordered on Crosmans custom page) but I can't find a
replacement for the misserable front plastic blade.

Does such a animal exist?

I bought 2 of these pistols "reconditioned" for $35@ and they shoot great. One I haven't touched.
The other I have completely disasymbled, lubed and adjusted everything including stoning and respringing
the sear and the trigger is fantastic, maybe 1 pound. But these factory plastic sights are useless for
anything much over 1" at 10 meters. Farther then that the group grows by a inch every 10 meters or so.

Any help?

Thanks...

:)

Well, there is a fiber-optic front sight available at www.mellonair.com (http://www.mellonair.com) , and bluefork design sells a metal rear fiber-optic sight that replaces the plastic ones http://www.blueforkdesign.us/44501/38816.html (http://www.blueforkdesign.us/44501/38816.html) but for the price of all that, you might as well buy the breech.....

If you want an honest opinion though, adding a steel breech on the crosman pistols is an absolute must. it will not only employ the use of scopes and sights, but it will also provide a stable non-flexing mount for your barrel. these guns become very accurate tack-drivers with the steel breech. There are several other things that can be easily done with these guns to add power and/or accuracy. I must warn you though, modding up the crosman pistol is highly addicting, lol.

A lot of the guys who make muzzle brakes for the crosman guns have the option to add a pin or blade sight to them.

I had an all brass brake with a post from MountainAirCustom that was quite nice.  I think MuzzleMack offers a few brake options with front sights and Art Shack may as well.

I think the Fiber optic sight from Mellon is the least expensive option.

Funny thing is I googled PC77 parts, sights, and none of those guys came up...

Guess it's one of those gotta know they exist to find them type deals...

;)

Looks like the finer optic front sight is for a longer barrel but the barres are cheap so a slightly longer
barrel, barrel clamp and fiber optic front sight would work perfect on the front.

I'll have to figure out the back with a steel breach.

I want to keep the option of iron sights, I really like shooting them on other guns, never scoped a hand gun before.

Did you see the barrel bands for the 1377 on that Bluefork page? You can get a metal band with front sight from him.

There were quite a few folks having issues with Bluefork on the Crosman Pistol Owners Forum this year.  I left him off because of that.  There is a new guy making metal bands (http://www.network54.com/Forum/79537/thread/1309814944/13xx+Barrel+Band (http://www.network54.com/Forum/79537/thread/1309814944/13xx+Barrel+Band)) that seems to be making folks happy and I believe he does sighted and unsighted bands.
My sighted band came from GMAC... only draw back there is you have to wait for it to come from England.

Shot of my two crosman pistols... I shoot my 1377 with iron sights (LPA Mim rear sight from crosman and the GMAC brass sighted barrel band for my front sight)... at 10yds from a seated position it shoots dime sized groups.

I like the blue fork designs... Thanks! I will go through the lists provided when I get a chance.  I can't believe how fun and accurate it is
for $35. If it came with straight, metal sights for it'd rock.

(of corse it'd also cost more)
