I'm a oddball I know but its needed to help out newcommers lol I like most here stock up on pellets for one no trips to the store if I have them here and 2 convience of knowing I have what I need so I have what I call a pellet box .its a box the size of a laundry basket full of pellets .177 cals,.22,.25 and all types hollows, domed, pointed, wads, and the funny looking shock pellets but of all I have I keep more than others onhand my top 5 are cphp in both .177 and .22,jsb jumbo exacts both cals, crosman ultra mags .177(a killer in a 1377 pistol)preds both cals, and crosman pointed both cals so what's yours what's ur top five u always have on hand no matter what you always got them.

Sure, it will help newcomers, if they bother to read it. LOL
But after a few days and the topic gets some age on it (HeeHee) it will come up again and again. Not a problem, we'll be here to guide all comers. ;D
Anyway, I keep on hand CPHP in both .177 & .22. My local Wally World keeps them on hand too. They are inexpensive, well made and shoot VERY well in all of my guns.
I also keep some heavier rounds available.
.22 H&N Crow Magnum 18.21gr
.22 Predators 16gr
.177 Beeman Kodiak Ultra Mags 10.6gr
.177 CPUM 10.5gr
I've found all of my guns will shoot just about ANY round fairly accurate. The weight of the ammo will have a different POI and has to be scoped for THAT round. I've made the mistake of zeroing with one round and loading a different one in when it came time to pop a nutter. Missed 5-6 shots before I decided to load my zeroed round. Then, one shot one kill. LOL
Happy Shooting!!!!
Dave

Those ultra mags are some very good pellets but in a pump pistol very deadly I see we keep about the same types on hand lol these I problally have 6 tins of each wally world also have those destroyer pellets which are great for the gamo types (big cat, viper,)and on the crosman phantoms
-
tryed just about any pellet I can get my hand on..
but I only buy/shoot JSB Exacts & Exact exspress they shoot well in most guns.
but the Patriot .25 I use H&N crow mags...all I have tryed &
they seem to shoot ok..but theres not a lot of choice in .25 pellets out here...
-
i think cphp you have to have them on hand they shoot decent in most ag and are very a hard pellet
-
i dislike the crosman pellets cause ive never had any luck with them. the only 177 i own is a nightstalker and it is very accurate with the 2.00 destoyers from wally. all my other guns are 22 and i have found that rws is a great pellet and also the china peak pellets. i already did a review on these so they are worth a look. also the jsb pellets are nice but pricey
-
I always keep jsb onhand but u are right expensive
-
Never had much luck with Crosman hollow points (either .177 or .22).
In .177 I need to keep Gamo Hunters and Crosman Destroyers (non-EX. Jury is still out on the EX variety). They work the best in most of my .177's - That's 2
In .22, Daisy wadcutters are liked by all of my .22 rifles (springers and pumpers), especially for cheap plinking. Too bad Wally World quit selling them. RWS Superdomes are the preferred rounds for accuracy in my 392. - So there's 2 more
Guess the fifth one has to be either .20 JSB's or Benjamin cylindricals for my Blue Streak!
-
you got lucky with the daisys. try the peak wc. they are a much better pellet and also cheap. archer has a good deal with them and as far as rws goes, since they went to the 250 tin in 22 only. they cost just as much as jsb
-
Crosman pointed are pretty decent in a tf89 but destroyers are a gamo pellet gamo guns do well with crosman destroyers
-
I have had good luck with the gamo rockets, preds, and Barricudas.
-
I have boiled things down to 3
In .177 cal the only pellet I feed my Baikal IZH 46m the H&N Finale match I tried a crossman .177 hunter's pellet and it didn't fit well.
In .22 cal I use Gamo TS-22 200 or Gamo .22 cal Match in my Crosman 2240 and 38c
I have tried other pellets but I don't shoot animals only targets.
I would like to shoot non lead but I can't find what else to try... The Enjun tin ones produce jams and misfires..I have tried Skenko non lead and they fly wild.
-
My top 5 brake down like this:
.22 cal
1.) JSB Exact Jumbo 18.1g.
2.) H&N Barracuda match 21.1g.
3.) JSB Exact Jumbo 15.9g.
.177
1.) Beeman Kodiak Extra 10.6g.
2.) JSB Exact 8.4g.
3.) JSB Exact Heavy 10.2g.
Yea, I can count, but I had my shoes on. 8)

rws superdomes either cal 177or22(but they dont make 500 packs in 22..anymore....booooooooooo)
in 177 1st RWS superdomes 2nd RWS mag 3rd crossman domes
in 22 1st(i know this sounds wierd but i've been digging on) benji PCP 2nd JBS exacts(but pricey!)3rd crossman ultra mags............it says 5 pindog but these 3 shoot best outa my guns but i always buy 2 or 3 tins of something new when ever ordering
-
Boxed CP's from PA (.22), CPHP's from Wally World (.177 and .22), Gamo Hunters from PA (.22) and Sheridan pellets for my .20 as I have not found anything to shoot better in my C Series at this time.
-
U know ur all good with me bart .I see most folks keep cphp on hand that must say something about these pellets while I do think rws and jbs make top notch pellets u really can't count out crosman I got a tin of skenco flat ultra shocks there pretty decent in a 1377 at short range

I have it easy; my Trail NP (that I stuck into a Summit stock) hopefully settled down. It seems to like .22 JSB 18gr jumbo heavy. I'm ok with that. Half-way between the ultra-lites and the super heavies. Good all-around critter gitter.
-
Any one try the beeman golds
-
I tried Beeman model 1235..I didn't know they were made in China, but they worked fine in my .177 cal pistol.
-
I keep JSB Predators, Beeman kodiacs, Beeman FTS, Crosman Hollow Points, and Beeman Crow Magnums on hand for my PCP'S.
I keep JSB Exacts for my spingers.
Larry :)
