Title: Slight mag indexing problem with new FX 30 cal MKll Wildcat
Post by: cootertwo on June 29, 2019, 05:27:04 PM
Hi! My new FX 30 cal Mkll Wildcat has a problem. When loading a new mag, it's hard to get it to index right, so you can close the action. Does not want to turn freely, like on my 22 cal Wildcat. Mag was getting the old scrape marks, like the original 22 cal versions had. I polished off the sharp edges of the mag indexing arm, but it's still not smooth. It appears they changed the design slightly. There is no cover over the arm, only the cheek piece covers it. There is a retaining screw, with a spring on the shaft of the screw to hold pressure on the arm. It appears to me, that the spring is too long, as if it's basically squished completely closed when the screw is tightened down. Anybody else having a problem with their Wildcat 30 cal MKll  ??? :o :o :o :o :o :o

After taking off the sharp edges from the mag lever thing, (went over the edges with a drum sander on my dremel tool) and re-assembling with some white lithium grease, it seems to be working it's way in. In other words, getting better as I break it in. I'm a little disappointed in the size of the mag, but I knew that before I bought it. But it is sure a tack driver, and critter getter! ;)
