Title: Nova Freedom tuned for two pellets?
Post by: Airspace on June 19, 2019, 02:44:31 PM
I'm just throwing this out as more of a personal curiosity than anything else. Has anyone with the Freedom or Seneca turned it with a heavier pellet on high power then switch to low power and try a different lighter pellet? .22 or .177either one. I just ordered two tins of .22 and. 177 from PA same pellet just 2 different weights for this exact reason. Just curious if it's already been tried and what were the results.

Someone did say that it seems to work pretty well.

Good idea!
Worth trying with some H&N 21 and GTO 11.75.

I'm thinking it may be possible but it would be range specific. Hold over and under would vary at random distances between the two.

Well, yeah. So I'd put on a mildot scope, zero for the heavy-hunter, and go up-2-and-over-1 for the plinker.
I'm a noob, and my max range on this, so far has been 32 feet. (I've shot real ones out farther, though)

At my close range there is not much difference.

I would guess that the up two and over one would start at about 25yds?

(Oops, between the barracuda heavies, and the piranha 14s)

Would be interesting with my JSB 18.1gr going out around 875fps and 14.3gr CPHP's going out around 700+ ?

Never thought of it, but it could be interesting. Your would have two different sight settings ... hopefully it is just high and low and not windage ! ... Could be useful. Once I'm sighted in and my Nova Freedom is working well I may give your idea a try.

Mine is the .177 and I shoot CPUM 10.5 on low power exclusively.

The Freedom is just flat out a really great gun for what it is.  Super nice action, decent trigger, plenty of adjustability right out of the box an honestly in my case there's really no need for any modifications because I can get more than enough power even for the medium size small game at a good distance.  It's super easy to pump this gun, I don't think I've ever seen an on board pump that was this easy to pump either.

Totally agree Wayne... dollar for dollar the best airgun related item I own. When I think about this gun I think about deals like the Beeman P17 and the FD-PCP but this one, for me, is way above and beyond both.
So glad I jumped on the last .177 they had at the time.
