Title: ATI Nova Internals
Post by: MichaelScholtz on June 19, 2019, 02:21:28 AM
I drew up the internals of the Nova with what looks like it may be the best way to repair the Poppet valve that leaks.

This is to show the layout inside for those that may need to take it apart to give you some idea of what goes where.

I have acquired some peek to make this valve but want to get an original valve 1st so when I stuff it up I don't sit without my gun.
I made one in Delrin ( Acetal to be exact ) which does seem to hold air.

I had to straighten the valve before it held and was wondering if its not the valve stem bending that makes it leak in the 1st place.

Which gun are you talking about?  ATI Nova could refer to at least 2 guns that I know of, the Liberty and the Freedom (Seneca Aspen).

Of course, what you are showing may be the same in both guns.  I really don't know.

Here are the diagram(s) for the Seneca Aspen/Nova Freedom:

Thanks for the post!

This is on the Liberty PCP, but I suspect this part of the pump is very similar.

Thanks!  Did you look at the link I provided?  Are they the same?

They do seem to have the same valve, hammer, probe and trigger. so this model should be useful for both. The pump mechanism is underneath the valve assembly so thats not on this one, and I haven't taken my regulator apart to measure and draw as I'm 100% sure ill screw it up so that's not in a cross section.

Its also worth mentioning this is not 100% to scale I measured parts like the valve body, poppet etc and eyeballed tings like the grub screw locations probe length etc.

No problem and thanks for taking a look!

Also, in case I did not respond to your introductory message...

Nice work Michael!  That really helps to visualize what’s going on in side.  Thanks for sharing!

I based what I did on your post in the leaky valve post.

I ended up with a 30' angle. tried 15' but didnt hold air. I did run into a small snag with it at 30' in that my tool started to foul on the body ( !$#@ insert tooling) so no deeper for me which is good because it seems to be holding air. Or, it would if I hadn't nicked the seal around the regulator. But, thanks to the posted assembly guide I know its a 2x18 seal. so its leaking slow but It should hold for a few hours to allow the valve time to bed.

Ill need to go fill my SCBA tank later so will see if the diveshop has the right seal.

But as for the model I'll refine it more and get it close to spec.
Here is a link to view the model https  :  //   a360.co   /2Zzvxfq ( some assembly required for the link )
