So,
I get my rifles set up, zero-ed in and then I don't shoot them again unless I go hunting, some I don't even see for months and months.
Then, like a couple days ago I receive a bunch of scopes from GTA members ( thanks all, you know who you are ;D )
All of a sudden I'm swapping changing scopes all around, changing configurations on some guns and now I feel like a kid that just got a bunch of new guns and can't wait to go out and Zero them all in ;D
I also got a bunch of Hammersprings to start making the twin Hammerspring mod on several of my guns,.....that again will make me feel like I just bought a bunch of new rifles ;D

I too go threw a scope lottery of which rifles get what at least a couple times a year .... Fun distraction to be sure ;D

I think the weirdness is that I really don't like shooting for the sake of shooting and target, don't shoot much at all unless it to check the zero before a hunt,
But as soon as I get a new scope on I can wait to go out and shoot, like a kid :)

I am finally starting to appreciate the term "Boringly Accurate"!
Some of my guns feel boringly accurate some times. And then I just don't need to shoot them nearly as much.
So I change the tune or make some other adjustment to change things up, then I have a goal again.
I enjoy shooting after work to relieve stress among other things. I need to up my accuracy goals to feed the need.
Or I'll just buy new guns until I feel like I can shoot them too.

Posted before about the "scope cascade" that often happens.
Get a new scope mounted on an older rifle that your really like.
Now you have the old faithful scope from the first rifle hanging around loose....so you look to other rifles that might benefit from that scope.
Pick one to mount that scope...and you have another scope hanging around loose.
Eventually you might be changins out an old scope that is just too scared up/dinged up for "style points"...but usually one good new scope will set off 3 or 4 scope changes...sight ins...retesting...and often finding out new things about old rifles.

I have more scopes than I have guns, so I’ve started zeroing in multiple scope for one gun. I’ll mark the bottom of one of the rings so I know which gun it’s been zeroed to so I can them swap them as needed. For example I have the ATN 4K Pro mounted to my Air Speed, but I also have a UTG 3-14X44 SWAT that’s also zeroed for the Air Speed. I have a UTG 6-24X56 on the FX, but also have a UTG 3-14x44 AccuShot zeroed for it as well for when I don’t necessarily need to shoot the flea off the Rat’s butt! The ATN 4K Pro can also save several profiles for different guns, so it’s been zeroed for the FX, the Air Speed, both Mrods, the Sumatra and both AT44’s! And rack of them has a standard optic that also zeroed for those specific air guns. It’s always nice to have options!

Never fails a new scope upsets the pecking order down the line. But I actually enjoy setting up and sighting in scopes :o

Evidently, there are some scopes I just refuse to move....so some have stayed with their rifles for a decade with no signs of every being removed during a "scope cascade". In retrospect, there has to be a good reason for that somewhere....might be an unwillingness to un-jinxs a rifle that has been working...might be hardheadedness...or it might be that the two somehow suit each other in some other way.
Not opposed to the idea with most of the others...might work out better...might work out worse...worth the try. But fore some, it just not going to happen.

Manny, its normal to go try out new air gun things and feel like its Christmas again, enjoy the moment.

Manny I run into many other hunters that think I'm a little weird for hunting small game with an airgun opposed to PB's . . . . they just don't know how nice they really are until they try one. The stealth is unreal in comparison. The only person that I've really run into out there on that state land that's intrigued with the airguns that I shoot is Paul (the DNR) he was amazed at the price I paid for my non warranty ATI Nova that I've been using lately, I even commented that the scope I have on it was not even that high end of a scope and the price of that was more than I paid for the gun even on sale like it was(UTG Swat Scope).

You know, you could keep the newness happening for months and months just doing the scope swap thing. I’m chewing on moving one scope which will of course have a cascading effect.
Naw, changed my mind. Or wait, did I? Hmmm SWFA from DAQ 58 to Citrus or to Texan? Or the BSA with the cluttered reticle to the DAQ .458? Oh my, so many choices!!!!
Wait, the RWS 350 needs a scope!
