Not familiar with them, but I would make sure it was not set to the hold function and the increment choice was set right. other than that, I would check the base wire connections if can be taken apart.

Took it apart every thing looks all soldered up. Changed battery no luck. When it shows the temp and I hit it with heat it counts down to one. Can't find any thing online either.

In reading the Amazon reviews, it looks like a bum device. Many are experiencing the same issues. I would contact Lyman.

Dang well guess I might as well toss it. Would cost half the price I paid to send it back.

According to some, Lyman is sending them another one. Worth a shot (No pun intended).

Most of the low cost units such as the NOE probe is meant for measuring the mold temp. The NOE requires a small hole be drilled into the base of the block wall and comes with the bit for doing such.
I have not researched the Lyman version. I do use the NOE for checking mold temps when preheating the molds.

OK, I did a little research and it is intended to measure the melt temp. They seem to be failing. But you already know that "Now". GRRRR!!
Sorry Sir! Not much I hate worse than a tool that won't, cannot do its job. >:(

Hi KnifeMaker geeeza guess I failed to do my researching like I should have. Geeeza how time flys thought I had bought this unit in 2019. Checked my PayPal bought it oct1 2018 lol. Not looking good for returning.
Bright side my NOE thermometer came. It seems to work fine.

I have all of my NOE moulds drilled by NOE for the NOE temp probe thermometer, which works great together! When ordering NOE mould(s), just click on the drop down and select "Drilled for probe" I don't know about any drill bit that comes with the moulds. Maybe so, but I didn't get one with any of my three mould orders, but didn't need them either. $5 for NOE to drill them beats what I could do trying to make a perfect hole.
