Title: Modifying Lee molds to hollow point for Benjamin Bulldog
Post by: Bkhart on May 27, 2019, 12:18:08 AM
Read on another forum an easy way to mod molds for hollow points.  First you make a bushing to guide the drill bit to bore the hole.  I like to clamp the mold closed when you drill the hole instead of just holding it closed. Works best if you drill the hole in two or three steps to allow opening the mold to clean out the chips.  I just use a bit of WD-40 for lube for the bit.  So far I have used the Lee 125 gr and 158 gr molds for the Bulldog.  The 125 gr drops at about 110 gr and the 158 gr drops at about 140 gr in hollow points.  They both work great.  So far I have only used these rounds on targets and ground squirrels.  I have gotten ground squirrels out to 116 yards with the 140's.  I have just started using the 110's and they have exceeded my expectations.  You can definitely hear when you make contact.  They are both as accurate if not more than any of the rounds I have bought for the Dog.
