Pellets that are designed for hunting are supposed to impart as much of their energy as they can in the least amount time. It is this kinetic energy that causes shock and human kills. In this video I will test six of the most popular hunting style all lead pellets buy shooting them into Clear Ballistics 20% Gelatin.
- Crossman Premier Hollow Point 14.13 gr
- JSB Hades 15.89 gr
- Skenco Ultra Shock 16.66 gr
- H&N Hunter 18.21 gr
- H&N Hunter Extreme 18.52 gr
- JSB Ultra Shock 25.39 gr
I video it from three different cameras and you will be amazed by the results.
The Airgun used to fly these pellets is the Huben K1 G5 in .22 Caliber. I used this airgun because of its huge power profile and ease of power adjustment. Even with this airgun trying to fly all the pellets at the same velocity proved futile but the results of each pellet were very informative.

Interesting!
This will require some study time.
First impression is that, are we comparing apples to oranges here?
Their is a lot of food for thought in this video.

thanks for the video. enjoyed seeing it. very nicely done sir

Outstanding video and info, very informative............ 8)
the only item missing was the psi fill and bbl length.
The Crosman is NOT a great surprise, I don't think you can get them to expand at any speed.....
Oh ya, that fly is fair game next time....... ;)

We are not comparing per se. I think this video is more what any one of the six chosen pellets will do at that specific velocity hitting that particular medium.
I did try and qualify in video through the narration that because of the different weights combined with different velocities, there is no way to compare against each other.\
But still you are 100% correct, there is TONS of data in this 15min video which only representative of 10% of the total time invested.

Because I had to abandon the accuracy portion in this production I figured just saying it was the Huben K1 G5 would suffice until the accuracy video of these six.
I'm not 100% positive but i think one can use Crosman PHP as ball bearings.
If I saw that fly thought he scope I would have tried...LOL

Sorry i'm bad. Didn't catch that in the narration until I watched it again and again and again.lol

Awesome video! How accurate are those Skenko pellets?

Awesome video! How accurate are those Skenko pellets?
As with most pellets, it really depends on the barrel and how they get along with it. It has been my experience in flying them through the following that anything under 50yards is a kill:
FX ImpactX 600mm STX Barrel
FX Crown 500mm STX Barrel
Umarex Gauntlet
MRod Gen2
Kral Puncher Breaker
Hatsan Bullboss
Huben K1 G5
I hope this helps

Great video Haj. Thank you for the work put into it!!

Great video. Those skenko's were something else!
-
Nice video. What pellet has the best bc for down range? I like the h&n hunters. :D
-
I would love to see that same test at 500fps at a short range. My rats I am shooting are much closer 10 to 15 yards at close to 500fps.
-
The video was very educational for me. I was always skeptical of the real world expansion of pellets, I figured that in reality they all performed like the Crosman ball bearings..er...pellets. Boy was I wrong!
The Skenko's and H&N's that topped your list had impressive expansion indeed! I will have to buy some and evaluate before squirrel season starts.

Another great video Haj!

Hey guys!
I proudly present to you, Part 2 in my 3 part 'HUNTING PELLET SHOOTOUT' series.
In this part, I concentrate on accuracy. Each of the shot groups were sighted in and power on the PCP was adjusted to get as close as possible to the sweet spot of velocity. In this part 2 to the video series, I will be shooting them from two of the top-selling PCP's on the market in the past 12 months, The Umarex Gauntlet and the ATI Nova Liberty. Shots were made from 50 yards on a bench with low wind on a bright sunny day.
Part three will showcase shooting the same six hunting pellets from an ATI Nova Liberty. I am trying to use PCP's that are the every mans PCP and not something tailor-made to shoot one of these pellets and steal the show.
The pellets tested in this video are:
- Crosman Premier Hollow Point 14.13 gr
- JSB Hades 15.89 gr
- Skenco Ultra Shock 16.66 gr
- H&N Hunter 18.21 gr
- H&N Hunter Extreme 18.52 gr
- JSB Ultra Shock 25.39 gr
The Top Three performers from Part 1 were:
- JSB Hades 15.89 gr
- Skenco Ultra Shock 16.66 gr
- H&N Hunter 18.21 gr
Remember to write down what the top three performers were in Part 1 because you will want to compare the result against Part 2 Top three.

Skenco Ultra Extreme 16.66..........Interesting, has caught my attention to give them a try.
No surprise with the JSB Hades 15.89
JSB Ultra Shock 25.39 Another one to take a look at. Never though much about trying this one.
Many thanks Haj !
