Thanks. Dick's is not that popular here because of some of their firearm policies (like they stopped selling AR15's and other semi-auto's), but someone might make use of this discount.

won't be me

Checked their prices and NO THANKS

Wont be me either. They can take their 20 bucks and place where the sun don't shine.
They are supposed to be the sponsor of the 2021 bass masters classic here in Alabama if they last that long.

I stopped shopping there after they changed their PB gun sale policies.
And besides, their prices were always higher than others.
Maybe another member will enjoy their discount just the same.

Sorry.... can't see myself walking into a store that has a big sign over the door that reads.... DICKS. .... among other reasons mentioned above.

Off my shopping business

Like I said to the OP/Adam... NOT too popular around here ;D
For me to shop at Dick's it would have to be the last sporting goods store left in the US. Same with CheaperThanDirt.com. They charged $98 for a 100-round box of 22LR CCI Mini Mag during the 2013-16 ammo shortage. While some others charged 30-50% more than usual for the same, or most 22LR ammo, CTD chose to charge 13x or 1,300% more. So those 2 are high on my list of companies not to do business with.

Dick's is the most apt name for these stores.
-
No thank you...
-
A while back I was going to put "No Dick's posts" on the Bargain gate page, but I thought people might get the wrong idea and I changed my mind.
-
Although they've had a store for several years only 1 mile from my home, only once did I go there and bought 2 dozen nightcrawlers.
I was desperate. Nuff said.

Speaking of targeted discounts, did you know Lowes Store gives a 10% discount to Veterans?
Just need to show your DD214 one time to get into their system. Today I got a $128.00 adjustment for the refrigerator being delivered Wednesday.
Adjusted the sales tax also.
Reserved parking spaces too.
Used one today because I was on my way in to get my discount.
Hey, savings are real money.

Might be worth putting some well worded note on the page. Nobody likes posting a deal and triggering a whole bunch of negative posts.
On a related topic, in this area, a couple of years ago, they bought out Chicks sporting goods. They were closed for a couple of months while they transitioned from Chicks to Dick's......
-
The joke or reference to the transition from Chicks to Dick's was made a few months ago :)
I also made a joke earlier about posting that on the main page, and I don't think we are ever going to tell our members what bargains they can or cannot talk about. As long as the vendor carries airguns and accessories we would not do that. I am sure a few people here still shop at Dick's or other stores the majority may not like, but it's a free world, and I am personally not judging anyone. Once in a while they have some crazy sales and you can save a lot, but I just choose not to give them any of my money even they were discounted 70%. I respect others' decision to shop there, so I would be against any such restrictions on the Bargain gate.
Someone mentioned Dick's going out of business soon. Actually Dick's has been reporting higher revenue for several years in a row, so it appears they are not going anywhere for a long time. They contributed to putting Gander Mountain out of business here a few years back, and they were within walking distance of each other. It's all those Chinese shirts and yoga pants they sell for huge profits. They make way MORE on those cheap clothes than the 30-40% markup on guns and ammo.
I also don't think Dick's sold hardly any AR15's before, because they were always more expensive than everyone else, so they made the decision to stop carrying them. I saw a Stag Arms AR15 that I have (my first one, the others I built myself) that I paid $799 for about a year before, and Dick's was charging more than the $999 MSRP on Stag's site - $1,099! Gander had the same model for $1049 (I did not lose any sleep when they went under) which was also over MSRP. Noone was buying those overpriced AR's so Dick's made thee decision to get rid of something that wasn't selling. Still it was the wrong thing to do, as was calling them "assault weapons". So no love for Dick's here. Never really had any for them ;D I too overpaid by 40-50% for cleaning patches at Dick's because Walmart was all out of them and I was desperate. I could barely get to the gun cleaning shelves and counter because they were surrounded by clothes racks. The store looked like a sea of clothes. I realized they had become a clothing store more than anything else. Oh andd I forgot the huge stack of baby diapers right in front of the main entrance as you walked in. I knew right there I wasn't ever going back. That was the last time I stepped foot in a Dick's store and I want to say it was 2013 or 2014.

Applebees has veteran parking now also. Its about time our vets are recognized for their service.

No to Dick's.

Yes to Dicks. No one needs an AR15.

Everyone needs several AR 15s.
I prefer to build my own AR15s.

Reminds me of when we lived in Indiana, just south of Indianapolis. There was a Dick's as an anchor store in the Mall and then a sign went up that there were building another one right across the street. We were driving by right after the sign went up and my wife looks at me and asks: Who needs two Dick's? I didn't touch that one!

"No one needs an AR15".
That same statement from the politicians has caused the additional sales of thousands upon thousands of AR-15s in the last number years. Keep 'em coming and I'll go buy one myself just to exercise my rights, too.

Yes to Dicks. No one needs an AR15.
i wonder what tune you’ll be saying when they come for your air rifle because “no one needs a air rifle” and all the ar 15’s are gone? NO ONE has the right to tell me what I need or don’t need.

I hate getting those e-mails from Dick's with the Subject: FLASH SALE! I'm afraid to open them for fear of seeing some old guy in a trench coat!

Or worse yet the speaker of the house in the trench coat. You cannot unsee what you see.

Agree!
Totally agree. I am thinking of building a 4th one. I already got a couple of extra uppers with various barrels and lengths, and getting tired of swapping them. Might as well get the lowers and make them whole :) Can never really have too many AR15's. 1 for each family member and to also siblings, uncles, aunts, for when the SHTF, so you immediately have a small army and lots of firepower ;) Same as airguns - you can never have enough. Not much different.

Yep the more the better.
I have a ghost gun I built as well from a 80% lower, my machining course at Harley has paid for itself many times over. I will be ready when the SHTF for sure. Stocking up on mags and ammo as well. Will have 1000 rounds loaded in mags waiting at the ready.

As informative as this is, we should probably get back to airgun related posts... ;)
